| smooth moves Posted: 5/16/2008 6:30:17 PM | I'm pretty much suspicious off the bat of the "smooth talkers".
Take your time and observe their behavior, actions speak much louder than words, it isn't just a cliche.
May want to get a tune-up on your BS meter....I keep mine in top shape and it works well.

| smooth moves Posted: 5/16/2008 6:47:03 PM | Poems? You mean that crap really works?? Uh, no. I can't stand cheesy stuff like that. I think this thread just clarified something that happened to me recently on this site too...so tanks ya'll!
I received an email that was *very* complimentary, very attentive, very....very....very... I responded with a polite but neutral tone and haven't heard from him since. I wasn't sure why, but now I think I might have a clue.
I'm too much of a bumpkin to be smooth. Annudder, I'll take bumpkin over smooth (aka insincere bovine feces) any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I think you're adorable.

Next time I down some shots or make one of my patented banana daquiris I'll try to write you a poem... or at least a limerick... can't promise it won't be crappy though. It doesn't have to be good, it just has to have your feelings in it (or so I once read).

| smooth moves Posted: 5/16/2008 10:24:00 PM | | I'm at my best when I'm not making a move at all. I get far more interest from women just talkin' and doin' my job. | |

| smooth moves Posted: 5/16/2008 11:12:50 PM | Of course he "got some" duh..we was together over a year till he was caught. He was very sweet to me and called me and everything.I found out everything by accident when I found a poem in his truck written to another gal on POF and it sure wasn't to me,that's when he confessed all and we was done for.You would think at my age being well over 50 that I would know better, but after not dating for more than 20 some years, this was all new to me.I didn't fall right away,it took him awhile, many months, but I did.I got my radar out now tho' you betcha | |

| smooth moves Posted: 5/16/2008 11:28:19 PM | OP, Nah, no new smooth moves, I'll just be putting the same old sleazy moves on you that I've always used...(what's poetry?) | |
|
| smooth moves Posted: 5/16/2008 11:40:13 PM | It isn't the age but the milage OP. You have got yourself a little mileage now. I would HIGHLY suggest you learn from it and not set black and white hard stop rules as a reaction like a lot of people suggest on here. Can you say bitter?
You need to learn what psychologist call observing ego. Some people call it intuition. But in order for you to build it, you need to live life and experience it. It sounds like you did just that. Learn from it and take that wisdom to your next relationship.
As the old saying goes, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
And as a side note, the guys who lay the lines and "seem to know what to say and when to say it" pick out women without intuition and the ability to see through their BS. As soon as they are discovered, they are gone.
Have you ever said to a friend "I can't believe you are buying that crap"? That is what you need for yourself to be able to clearly see a guy doing that to you without the friend.

| smooth moves Posted: 5/17/2008 10:29:09 AM | Well you obviously got played and he probably had several women on the go at the same time. Mr wonderful funny romantic guy is rarely genuine outside of movies because the people that can pull that kind of thing off realise they can make muiltiple women fall for them and they do it. | |

| smooth moves Posted: 5/17/2008 10:39:20 AM | | I have zero moves, much less "smooth moves" haha. I think each woman deserves to be treated differently and the way to her heart depends wholly on her personality. Or am I just a cheesy romantic? | |
|
| smooth moves Posted: 5/17/2008 8:14:41 PM | I kinda like cheesy romantics I think that's what got me in trouble in the first place | |
|
| smooth moves Posted: 5/18/2008 12:53:03 AM | | not every guy is a player, though there are alot of them especially on this free site, as there are ladies that play to the same tune..take it slow and be careful..do your homework and do alot of it..have you ever tried to google your date? | |
