Speak with a pyschologist. no one hear has the right answer. Unless they happen to be a psychologist and then they could put you in touch with a competent professional in your area. This is like us trying to advise you about heart surgery

I think any response must be geared to the age of the child. How would any of us feel if we asked an innocent question about the whereabouts of Daddy and got a bombshell like that delivered straight to our unsuspecting hearts?

Honesty has its time and place. The important thing here is that this child is loved and wanted HERE and NOW, not how she was concieved.
If the child is in risk of having the raw, unfiltered facts dumped on her by a blabbermouth, then Mom had better choose the people she lets her children hang out with, and that includes relatives.

Just how can knowing that this child was concieved by rape supposed to "help" her? The biological mechanics are the same miraculous event in which a new being is created. I wouldn't want to focus on negative circumstances that were totally out of the mother's control.
A child is precious, no matter what the circumstance of his or her conception.
