| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/2/2008 2:44:59 AM | sounds like a fun day out. I used to live just over the fence from the park so I am very familiar with it. haven't been for ages though and it will be nice to see if my ducks still live on the lake lol I will be attending with my 11 year old son and will also try to persuade a friend or two to come along as well. | Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/2/2008 11:38:38 AM | Hi Aaron, Susan and Dancingfool and anyone else that I have left out. Good to see you all signing up for this meet. I cant take the credit aaron as it was actually my co-hosts idea but I agree with you that it is a good one as not everyone is into pubs/clubs so this should make a nice change.
All we need is the weather to make this a great day but even if it rains im sure we will still have a great time.

There are a few big bbqs we can use if anyone wishes to volunteer in taking that on but the way the numbers are going I think disposable wld be a good idea!! Cheers Sheils xx

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/23/2008 11:52:13 AM | Hiya
I'm a really new fish - trying not to be too wimpy and just run away!! This is just down the road and I can bring the kids so no excuses not to come - other than kids are at their dad's til 5pm - OK to come after that? You'll still be going strong huh?
Kids are 12 and 9. Eldest is visually impaired and youngest is autistic.
And joining this is to prove the health visitor wrong! "You are quite stressed karen" she said, "You could do wi another pair o hands. If only you could meet a bloke. But you could struggle to find a bloke to take you on wi your kids!!!!!"
I'm standing back and waiting for the reaction from you guys!!!
:-)

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/23/2008 1:18:07 PM | Hi Karen, The fun will be on till 8pm so plse come along and bring your kids, both you and them will have a good time.
Im gobsmacked at your Health Visitor, what a bloody cheek! Im sure most single mums could do with an extra pair of hands but its not that easy. Im a single parent too though mine are all older now (youngest is 18) I brought them up from quite a young age on my own and did a bloody good job of it too if I say so myself. So what if your kids have asome health issues, thats not to say that you wont meet anyone and one of the POF meets is just the place to do it so get yourself along and you will be made most welcome. My grandkids are coming and there will be quite a few the same age as yours so they will be fine . We are organising games etc for the kids (wel that is the plan anyway) but there is loads there for them to do anyway.
If I have to I will personally go and play with them to let you relax with a glass of wine or whatever it is you drink and to de-stress if just for a little while.
There is no excuses so Im looking forward to seeing you on the day and you WILL prove your Health Visitor wrong

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/23/2008 3:25:06 PM | Hi, thanks for the invite but sorry can't make it, we go on holiday that day.It would have been a great opportunity to meet lots of fish and kids. Hope the sun shines and you all have a great time. If theres another one we'll be there with bells on!! P.s Karen, your health visitor should be hauled over the coals for making such rude and insensitive comments as that. I hope you've complained about her/him. | |
