| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/26/2008 10:36:48 AM | Cheers guys! I was pretty gobsmacked myself but I laughed and said to her "I was quite happy on my own and wasn't really bothered about finding a bloke until you said that but I'm obviously gonna have to prove you wrong!" No - J&J I haven't complained but the GP is a pal so next time I see her I will mention it.
So meanwhile - excited about the event - might try and persaude my ex to let me have kids back earlier - they'll love it! Totally fingers crossed for the weather - if its even slightly damp my hair'll frizz and then I've got no chance of pulling!
:-)

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/26/2008 10:48:03 AM | Nice to see someone organising something in my neck of the woods- unfortunately I will be away on vacation just the day before the 5th. I hope you all enjoy yourselves at Crombie though. Don't forget the Angus glens are just a half hour further, so consider going up the glens too, if you get a chance.
I posted a message on here to ask if anyone wanted to attend a social event in Dundee or Edinb., and got no responses. However, there obviously is some interested members who want to meet up for a nice social plan, so once I get back, I will post another plan for Aug., on here.
Yours sincerely,

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/26/2008 2:16:11 PM | Totally happy 2 pitch in and mind kids. Pitching in and making kids happy is WAY easy. Being around ppl who are open minded and understand that by the time u get to a certain age ur gonna have complications is reality. Having happy times is what its all about.
In the old days that might have happened thro family. Now we all need to come tog in events like this to find ppl we can bond wi. Big thanks 4 organising this ladies!

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/27/2008 9:29:51 AM | Hiya Karen
You are dead right the traditional family does not exist anymore and us single parents need to push our selfs to get out there and mix and mingle with folk we can relate too. Hopefully this meet will be the perfect opportunity to do that!! After all we are still young at heart and just cause we have kids it does na mean we have to become hermits!! Im a bit of a party girl myself and luv socialising and having a laff!! Megan is a only child too so this meet will be an opportunity for her to mix and make new friends!! Cant wait xx SS xx

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 6/28/2008 7:34:27 AM | Welcome aboard all the newbies who have signed up, sorry I cant quite your names but there are so many now im not sure who I have said hi to and who i havent.
This time next week we will just be getting started and hopefully soaking up the lovely sunshine lol. Remember there are barbeques there but we thought it would be better if people brought their own disposable ones since there are so many of us, we may not need to use them but just in case.
If anyone has any games they think may be good for the kids (and the adults) please feel free to bring them along as its been a while since i have had to think of games for my kids
Im not sure if there are any shops there so remember and bring enough drink to last you (shandy of course)
Cant think of anything else as im getting all excited now with not many sleeps to go I will be looking for some fishy balloons so you know we are from POF if not I will bring some other kind of balloons but I will post on here to let you all know.
Looking forward to meeting everyone next week

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 7/5/2008 11:20:31 AM | ok - so where exactly WAS this "fun day"??? we trailed the length and breadth of that park and found NO "fish" marquee, NO hosts, NO other "fish" members and not even a feckin squirrel in sight!!!!!!!!!!!!
there were two marquees - one for a kids party and the other for a disabled group!
on enquiring at the ranger centre we were told that they'd never even heard of POF and that they had booked NOTHING! Was someone takin the "P" with this so-called event??
however, me and my mates had a good day out regardless - but this taught us a lesson - we'll NEVER be attending another "event" if this is the kind of shambles on offer!
|
| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 7/5/2008 11:43:57 AM | Complete and utter waste of time! I wont be attending another so called "Fun Day"! The ppl that organised this didnt organise anything! We were told that there was nothing whatsoever booked for POF - in fact they had never heard of it! So Kissylips and Sallyshiels what was this all about? I expect a reply. Did anyone else turn up there and find nothing????

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 7/5/2008 1:16:15 PM | OMG! I thought it was just me being an idiot that I couldn't find it.
I'm sure you guys must'v been there - weren't you - Kisseylips, Sheils? We just weren't in the right place huh? There was a family reunion (for Granpa's birthday the lady told me) and Lucy's birthday in the only 2 marquees we could find.
Hope you guys had a good time wherever you were hidden!

| Family fun day at Country Park - 5 July - Crombie Country Park Posted: 7/6/2008 5:24:53 AM | My sincere apologies for the mixup yesterday ladies. We booked a bus to bring uf there from Edinburgh and it took us to the wrong place, Comrie in Crieff!! After much humming and hawing we eventually got the driver to take us to the correct place but didnt arrive until about 6. We did text Sheils family who were there and ask them to look out for anyone who arrived in fact Sheilas mum told us that a couple of people had asked her if it was the Plenty of Fish thing but she just thought it was booked for Sheila and her friends and didnt realise that it was a POF thing, which was our fault so once again my apologies for a waste of yoru day and I am so sorry that the kids were disappointed.
We spent half the day on the bus but had a good time when we eventually got there and a couple of POF members turned up and had a good time. Please dont let this put you off attending another POF meet as it was just and unfortunate mistake. I wont try organising anything so far away from home again though but if we had got there on time it would have been a really good day .
Lala and Bohemian I did try to email you but cant as you have your settings for male only. You might want to change that if you want to make friends with any females on the site. Thanks Karen for having a little faith in us. It wasnt a joke or anything just a lack of communication on our part and an imbecile bus company who cant take a booking properly. We didnt get home till about 11.30 at night as we refused to pay all the money for the bus after the fiasco it caused us.
MummyD my apologies to you too and to anyone else who turned up before we got there.
