kisseylips, these things happen , everyone wants their meets to be a success and to be fun for everyone, but it is still up to the individual to make their own fun as well, for those who have never been to a meet or even helped organise one just remember the person organising is only a member like yourself so the mishaps that can happen to them can happen to u too if u are organising

^^^^^ Thanks Sola that has made me feel a bit better as im feeling really bad about what happened and dont want it to put anyone off organising or attending any more meets. It was just one of those things unfortunately but I have learned my lesson from it and will stick to things a bit nearer home where I have more control etc lol.

Thanks again for your words of support

Hiya folks

Yes yesterday was a nightmare! Kissielips and I were extremely stressed out!! The marquee was booked under my dads name who works at Crombie so we could get it free cause it usually costs 200 quid!! As Kissielips said our coach took us to the wrong place despite me saying serveral times we were going the wrong way!! Crombie is a beautiful park and I am extremely sorry to those of you who turned up and feel you had a wasted journey!! I did try to phone my family serveral times but could not get a signal as the bus driver had us so far out in the bluddy wilderness!! We tried hard and put alot of effort into organising this meet!! We were stuck on a bus for 5 hours with loads of young kids!! We arrived at 6pm and we made the most of it!! Thanks to those who did hang about hope you had fun!! I think its a shame if folk are put of attending other meets!! Yesterday was just unfortunate and thanks to everyone who has posted and emailed with words of support!! Sorry again for the disappointment!! I know it took alot of courage for some of you too attend in first place. Mummyd and Karen im really sorry about yesterday!! Cheers Sheils xx

Girls you can only do your best . i think you maybe tryed to organise as event that was maybe for a more experianced host . stik to clubs and barrs till you are sure of numbers . reson for that are the glasgow meets are so sussesfull i no were i can go if bored and meet other fish at weekends even if a meet isnt organised . wait till friendships have sparked of with a few fish . then if you are late as a host or lost the other fish will take over . sharon ( scrummy is the main glasgow host . but if she was lost vcoming to an event someone there would be txt and no to get the night going .I honestly think if you let wat has happened put you of the meets its just your loss . as ive made so many friends from these meets . Its added to my life (sola ) is a wonderfull women i only no her through glasgow meets but i adore her and her friend ann ive got a bag full of new friends thanks to the glasgow meets . a lot of the glasgow crowd are coming to join edinbrugh next meet now come on keep your meets going lets make new friends xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx pof is about (FRIENDSHIP ) LINDA XXX

Hi Sassy and Kissey
Just want to endorse what Linda^^^^ has said about POF that it is also about meeting lots of new friends and not just for the hope of meeting MR/MRS RIGHT. I too have made many good friends after the Edinburgh Meets and look forward to making more at the Meet in September.
Well done to you for holding out and not having a breakdown after yesterdays nightmare. Organising a meet like that took some doing and through no fault of yours some folk were disappointed but so were those who organised it!

See you soon

I say shoot the person who has never got anything wrong in there lives (hmmm....does that mean every person on the planet would be dead?)

As the host of the Glasgow meets I just want to say to everyone please don't let what has happened here put you off....yes, it's a shame what happened....shoot the hosts? no no no....it may sound easy organising a meet.....but it's not.....and until a person has organised one please do not slag the hosts or hostesses!

The 2nd Glasgow meet (1st one I organised) was almost a fiasco....venue booked for 50 people and 440 signed up!!! could have been a disaster (and no doubt for some it was) but we got there in the end.....you can never predict what will happen at a meet....this was an unfortunate scenario but please do not blame the hostesses....their intentions were genuine and had everything gone according to plan it should have been a great day!

Girls, don't let it put you off organising meets in the future....one thing i've learned about being a host is you can't please everyone but if you can please the majority then you are onto a winner! Good luck with your next meet xxx

As a host of Glasgow meets and co-host of the first Edinburgh meet in the Grapes, i can only tell you girls that these things can happen! My first hosting was the Renfrew Ferry, little did i know it was only open till 11pm!! We still had a decent turnout and went clubbin after but mistakes do happen and at least you gave it a shot girls, dont be put off!
I hope I can make the next Edinburgh meet! We Glaswegians are coming through!!!
Dont give up , u have full support of us Easties!!!!
Oh Yeah ! Alan

Right noo.....unfortunately for Kisseylips and Sassyshiels....this turned out to be a disaster but hey at least you tried to organise something which goes a long way....people want to go along to these meets but forget someone else is organising it out the goodness of their heart.

I can understand why some folk were disappointed but if they tried to organise something perhaps they would understand how these things go....hard work, stress and a hope that all goes well, people turn up and have a good time.

Here's hoping that all who did not have a good experience will give future meets a chance as they are the ones who will miss out if they don't.

Take care chicks and maybe see you in Sept...

And I agree too! Sticking ur necks out to organise something takes bravery - and thank gawd ppl do - otherwise life would be WAAAY dull! Well done girls - do it again - and I'll do my best to be there! (Even if I've met the man of my dreams and don't even need to be there. :-) I know - as if!! )
