Damn you. All of you.
Favorite food? Hard to chose, but I right now I would die for a piece of Sacher Torte... not home made, though... (sorry all)... the one served in the Sacher Hotel in Vienna.

| What are your favorite sweet indulgences? Posted: 5/19/2008 12:01:30 AM | up until 3 months ago it was dove milk chocolate.. now it's 60 percent or higher cocoa dark chocolate and I only eat 1 or 2 pieces. It's just enough to satisfy my cravings once a month. My frequent indulgence is homemade berry sorbet. | |

| What are your favorite sweet indulgences? Posted: 5/24/2008 11:31:21 PM | | I don't eat a lot of desserts, but when i do i'd have to say, hands down, homemade lemon meringue pie. Others can't say no to chocolate, me it'd be lemon. My great grandmothers recipe for rice pudding also gets my mouth watering. At this time of year tho' a perfectly ripe mango is my craving. In fact that was my breakfast today, mmmmmmm. | |

| What are your favorite sweet indulgences? Posted: 5/27/2008 4:15:03 PM | I'm don't often crave something sweet. If I do, I try to eat a half of a ruby red grapefruit so that I won't "give in" to my sweet craving, but I am reminded of something I always said with my love interest at the time....
When the waitress came over and asked if we wanted anything for dessert, I would say,
"He isn't on the menu!"
She would smile and think that was a really sweet thing to say. I always liked to flatter him. Ah...but those were the days!!!

| What are your favorite sweet indulgences? Posted: 5/27/2008 5:30:22 PM | Ahhh...Just remembered one.
Laura Secord Easter Eggs.
The Secord Easter Cream Egg was introduced in the 1920's as a sweet treat for Easter, and has since become a Canadian tradition for families. This egg with its fresh, mouthwatering buttercream centre, enrobed in dark chocolate, has become so popular that customers simply refer to it as the Secord Egg. Four sizes are available; a 20g mini Secord Egg to satisfy the impulsive snacker, 100g & 200g eggs for loyal traditionalists, and a 300g egg for the true connoisseur. Prices range from 75 cents to $10.
Originally the cream eggs were produced for the Easter season, but their popularity demanded that the eggs be made available to customers much earlier. Production on Laura Secord Cream Eggs starts as early as January to meet the demand and still provide the Laura Secord tradition of uncompromising high quality and guaranteed freshness.
Canadians take pleasure in how they eat the Secord Egg and sharing the experience with friends and family is the best part. Some chill it or slice it before enjoying. Others scoop out and eat the creamy, yellow centre first, like a soft-boiled egg.

I grew up with those at Easter.
There was , and still is, enough sugar in those things to make a kid ricochet off all four walls like a pinball machine on nitrous oxide.
Not something I'd suggest for those who are trying to cut back on calories, I'm afraid. I think it has something like 4,000,000,000 of them.
Oh...... but the taste. | |
