I wonder how many well intentioned hitch-hikers have had their careers cut short by an overzealous girlfriend?

A long-time New Yorker, with long legs, if we didn't hold hands, he'd be a block ahead of me in a breath or two. The solution turned out to be fun in an of itself, and one of my fondest memories, is coming to the bottom of the stairs at the apartment, and his just stopping and reaching back for my hand. . . . touched me then, and the memory does now.

Every form of touching is different and important in a relationship, IMO, and I can't help feeling like this particular behavior ruined the moment, and any bonding or intimacy we could have shared through this simple joining.
