It's only in the last couple of years that people stopped guessing 5-10 years OLDER than my actual age.
As in "You're pretty trim for a guy your age."
"How old's that?"
"Oh, about 50"
"Uh, thanks. I'm 42."
I guess I finally grew into my face.
So for all of you excessively complimented Dorian Grays out there-

whats actually insulting about it? is it mean? no lol..its just someone making a observation..its certainly not one that should hurt your feelings

Posted: 7/21/2008 8:28:57 PM | I had picked my brother up earlier tonight at a local bar while I was waiting for him.I sat down and the barmaid started to talk to me about 5mins in to the conversation she tells me I'm real mature for my age, I asked her how old doshe think Iam..she said 25..I smiled showed her my Dl and she said wow I never thought of dating someone my dads age............not too sure how to take that.
But hey i felt real good for a few mins.
I love hearing that I look young for my age. | |

I have noticed most everyone claims people tell them all the time they look far younger than their years- and they surely believe it! However, I rarely see someone who actually looks younger. I think it must be one of those compliments people throw about far too often.
If I had a dollar for every profile I read that said "They tell me I look 10 years younger than I am" I could go on a nice holiday. If I combined it with the money from the "Looking for my soulmate" I could retire. If I then threw in the money from "no games", I could retire on the French Rivera
I have to agree with these two quotes. I have been told I look young. I don't take much stock in it. I was also told I wasn't fat when I weighed 200 lbs. Or that carried the weight well. I look back at those photos. I was fat...I looked fat. People will say anything to try and make you feel better.
I have seen some of the photos of some so-called-young people. The majority look their age. A few looked older; a few looked younger. | |

Posted: 7/23/2008 12:20:26 PM | no but i had fun when i was 40 more than when i was 21. first i had the younger girl after me also the older ones. when i was 21 did not want older ones and the same age as me wanted older so what everything mean! is you live your life to the full and if someone dose not like you because of your looks your age the way you dress or talk that there loss as you can only be true to your self AND REMEMBER THIS, THERES SOMEONE OUT THERE YOU HAVE NOT MEET YET! AND THEM FROM THE LATTER ARE NOT WORTH MEETING. | |

Posted: 7/23/2008 3:34:20 PM | Yes, I hate it. I am also 4'11 which does not help in conjunction to me looking young. I go to the kids school and am told to get to class! What. I am 31 and have 4 children. It makes you feel like all of your accomplishments in your adult life have been insulted.
Strange twist however, is that when people do get to know me, I tend to get long with people who are anywhere from 8-15 years older than me versus the people who are my age or younger. My best friend is 45.
Well I guess somewhere there had to be a balance. Good thing I am a lot of fun, and lucky to have never had problems with guys enjoying my company. | |

I'd love to take it as a compliment, but the tone can be quite annoying or condescending...like my photos are fake or something. Sheesh. Yes, I'm 36. Thank goodness my parents have good genes. They both look younger than their ages as well. | |
