Hardly worth replying to, but I'd be suspicious of anyone stupid enough not to realise it was a typing error and try to make a point out of it rather than a joke as another member did. Doesn't say lots for your intellect

I'm automatically suspicious of people who purport to have had an education but fail to demonstrate it to an adequate degree, yet insist on making feeble attempts to denigrate anyone else who they perceive to have a higher level of intelligence themselves.

Actually, it says little about yours. It was a polite way of saying f off you utter twonk and dont bring your petty gybes from one thread to another. But you didn't understand it.

I'm suspicious of people trying to prove some kind of point who take the internet far too seriously through lack of anything better to do.

to answer the op (is that opening poster ? lol new to all this ) people can feel inferior in the presence of a intelligent person , that can breed resentment ,although some intelligent people can be very condescending .
I personally would always give credence to the protestation of a educated expert over the excursive ramblings of the average bloke down the pub , lol perhaps I'm suggesting no one should listen to my waffle ,probably not a bad thing | |

The smartest person i know has a phd amongst other things...very clever, smart, funny etc....but cant spell to save his life lol
I do think that some people can be intimidated by intelligence. I have experienced it..simply because i like to talk about all sorts....and think Eastenders and the likes are the devils work lol

IMO I'm not suspicious of educated people, I think if people have studied hard and obtained their degrees or whatever, then good for them......it doesn't make them better or worse than someone who doesn't have an education / degree........we're all different that's what makes being part of the human race soooooo facinating.

I couldn't agree more!!
My ex hubby is a builder, and always had a problem with what he saw as the comarative difference in our education/intelligence levels. My point was that I struggle to put up a shelf without it being a rand performance... let alone build the things he had done in our house!
Intelligence is relative, its just that more people can build as opposed to understanding biochemistry. | |
