| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/21/2008 12:46:00 AM | I'm confused
Any guy who asks you out wants sex? Guys want sex every day and women can go without it for years?
WTF?
I have to ask the question If thats true WHY are you here?
Like if you never intend to meet a 'sex hunting lying sleezoid'
Have you ladies realised if YOU arent interested in him sexually...it aint gonna happen.
Or do you 'open up' if some guy tells you pretty lies because you think you are loved and thats why YOU went on the date? All I can think is WTF?
Sex is not something you give some guy who is giving you what you want. Sheesh. Some real confusion over some of the issues here I think.
If you feel IN DANGER from men.....either become a confirmed bachelorette (and stick to it and state it on your profile) or become a lesbian.
I live alone I have grown men staying here often They have their own room I do not feel threatened Because I do not give off INVITATION signals
We're just 'sharing space'
Now compared to that...if you cant even handle yourself in a COFFEE situation on a crowded street....
Best to get yourself sorted out You're not ready for dating
Sex is NOT about a commodity women have to GIVE men They dont GET it FROM you Its something 2 people who want to go there 'share' the experience And if it isnt....back to school and take some classes Seriously
Some of these posts scare me Are we trapped in the Victorian era or something?
And there are some BLOODY NICE GUYS out there Guys who get screwed over by women too Guys who FEEL, who LOVE, who CHERISH and who would do anything for their women
Quit with the guy bashing

| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/21/2008 3:34:16 AM | I was never what you call a 'dater' by nature anyway....
My relationships in the past all were 'eyes meet, sense the attraction, get to know each other, and then we're together'. Sure we had 'dates' when we met. But once we 'dated' we kept dating each other with no worries if there was anybody to compete with...
And that is but one of the reasons I haven't been out on a date in nine months now. And in the four years of being single, I've only been on a little over twenty dates, period. I'm just not in the mood to have to 'sell myself' to somebody, particularly one who is 'serial dating', as most people seem to be doing nowadays, as seems to be the method on the internet.
With each passing day, I grow less and less interested in using the internet as a vehicle to meet 'the one'. I'm tired of it. I used to think it was possible....but I don't now. Hell, I don't even know if it's possible just walking by somebody on the street anymore... I'm SO tired of it, that I've forgotten now what the actual dating process is. And I can't even think or imagine what it would be like now to sit across from somebody and just feel genuine 'attraction' as we talked. I wouldn't know a 'flirtatious' move being thrown my way if you gave me a handbook on body language. I've literally forgotten how any of that goes. I also just don't like the thought of one more date where the attraction is one sided, with one or the other feeling nothing. It's a waste of time........ Since I've lived without so much as a touch, a kiss, a held hand, a loving word, or a cuddle for four years, (sex? ummm.....what is that? ) there is simply no point to try to 'force' any issue to obtain it. I miss all of it..... I would love a relationship....but why go through this CRAP way of meeting people??

| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/21/2008 3:57:56 AM | I have been on here for a few years on and off, by that I mean after a while I get very disheartened and take my profile down for a month of so, and than put it back up.
So, no I haven’t been on any dates, but I think it might be the same for many guys, as I see some on here I remember from a year or more back.

| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/21/2008 4:11:16 AM | Well I don't know why half the people don't meet someone if you get along and find each other attractive. You only get to know the real person by meeting them. Most people are only on here for an ego boost AKA time wasters. | |

Most people are only on here for an ego boost AKA time wasters Oh I think thats a bit harsh. I dont think many people get their ego boosted from being on here at all. On the contrary, I think it toughens you up. A few rejections and you've got a hide like a rhino!
I'm not particularly phased by the fact that there are few people I really connect with on here. (or the vast numbers of profiles that I have no chance of being appropriate for) In the real world you walk past hundred of people every day and you 'reject' them (and vice versa) because you can tell from the situation, or the way they're dressed, or the fact that they've already got a partner, etc, that they aren't right for you. You dont feel upset or rejected (and neither do they) because that's what we know to be real. Why do we feel that we need a better 'rate' of connection on the internet?
I have been on a date with someone I met on the internet and I found it .....educational. I would be asking more questions next time.

| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/21/2008 7:43:44 AM | A lot of the reasons I don`t date ..guys from websites....is I`m not a financial member so cant initiate emails etc..... which is Why I like this site, but, I`m like lots of women I don`t get answers to the emails I send... and I`m not much good at come-back lines either, as I might think about what the guys say too longer, and not think of anything funny to write if they do! There used to be one guy who said he liked tea, but what sort of tea, Twinings, Lipton, or was it afternoon tea? And you must admit, not many people put interesting things about themselves in their profiles, 2 lines of a few words , no descriptive subjects, just words that they think describe themselves to a *t* , but nothing about what sort of music, 60s. be that jazz, or The Beatles, or Bill Hailey, the name of their boat, if fishing is mentioned, so you can tell if its a 8 ft dinghy, or one that you can take to Rotto, or *I like to ride my bike , is it a Triumph or a Yamaha, (of course that could also be an organ)....or the Pushbike song? *I thought I could* for a bike which has no gears,.....or they put ...*I like footy* Is it English Footy?, does that mean you watch it, or can you kick one, or do you have it on Foxtel? Or maybe you meant to write footsys...!! So I am back to the question of what do guys mean when they say they are looking for someone for FUN...??
I thought this was a fun site so I try to put a bit of FUn here!

A) Smart (as in intelligent) gals scare the bejeesuz out of them. B) Confident, independent, gutsy real women, scare the bejeesuz out of them.
I'm doomed. Might as well quit now
Seriously though, I dont know about the smart part, but B certainly fits We're not 'needy'
But some guys like needy women (its great for their ego) but guys who dont have ego issues and appreciate the 'team' aspects of a relationship find needy women hard work.
Each person is going to fit with different people and not with others.
I had some guy turn up here annoucing he' a Druid. Turns out he belongs to the Freemasons (as a very basic level) and carries a deck of tarot cards and hangs out with a bunch of plastic covern witches in a feral suburb.
Odds there? Zero. But he might fit perfectly with someone who enjoys a little flim flam and dramatic stuff. It just doesnt mesh with me. Each to their own.
Should I be sour on all men because of that? Or should I just see it how it is?
I think 'generalisations' are dangerous.
Re the comment the general perception is you wont find 'really datable' people on a website. Hmmm. I think there is the same mix as in real life. And often the understated are the interesting ones to talk to.
TALK TO Thats one of my own prerequisites Others go for the HOW MUCH BOOB CAN YOU SEE thing Wham bam give us a bit of slap and tickle luv
Thats cool for those who like it You'll find both in real life too
If you meet them in person....you'll suss it fairly quickly
Go walk into any pub, macdonalds, bank, supermarket, restaurant Take a good look How many people there really 'grab' you? Odds are...none will
Same odds on here So why stress over someone who doesnt answer your email? They're just not into you
So what? Plenty you are not into either
Keep it real | |

"...Go walk into any pub, macdonalds, bank, supermarket, restaurant Take a good look How many people there really 'grab' you? Odds are...none will

The above is so true and I think sometimes we tend to forget that the whole idea of internet dating is not really about the internet but it's about DATING. The same principles and situations occur online as in real life and there are going to be people that you click with ( ) online just like there will be in real life. The only way to find out if it's going to work is to meet them. Presumably if you are going to meet somebody in person, there is already something about them that you are attracted to, eg their photo, communication style, personality, voice etc, so it's just a matter of seeing what they are like in person. I will admit though that to me there can be a huge difference in what I have perceived somebody to be like just through their emails, photos and telephone conversations to what they are actually like if and when I meet them for real. I don't know why but it just seems to happen.

| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/22/2008 12:21:16 AM | Simple answer for why I don't go on a date.
The last one I went on was good enough to put me off dating for a long time. Won't go into details here, but even my mates agreed that you can't get much worse.

| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/22/2008 12:30:07 AM | Oh please just go into a few details???? If nothing else, some of the "bad" dates can break the ice and provide entertaining new date conversation starters... | |

| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/22/2008 3:28:32 AM | ^^ hey anyone on here dated rainbow and got some stories to tell?
Now THAT might be why some people dont date people off here! If it doesnt go well they might get a bit tacky about the whole deal.
I ...dont
If it doesnt work out or you didnt like each other Thats just how it went
It doesnt mean hes not perfect for someone 'else' or I'm not perfect for someone 'else'.
The thought that someone would do that to me never crossed my mind until now. But then again...I dont think someone who does that kind of thing would get a date in the first place.
|
| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/23/2008 1:21:34 AM | Since you wanted a few of the details liveandlovewell, here they are.
A few of the highlights (hmmm maybe not a good term for it but...) would be as follows:
1. She stated that she had recently broken up with her ex and he now had a Restrining order out on her because she split his face open. She now likes to drive past his house most days to see him freak out. 2. She currently has a mistress (She's a sub) and goes to swinger and BDSM parties and is currently sleeping with two work colleagues. 3. She told me she had the red river running otherwise she would take me home, though if I was ok with that then we could still go for it.
I must say she did say at the start that she speaks her mind and doesn't worry what others say, but surely these are not things you say ever, let alone on a first date.
To add insult to injury she then proceeded to call me all the time at any time of the day and night for the next few days. I thanked my lucky stars when it stopped. I figured she must have given up, but then received messages on messenger to find out what my number was as she had washed the phone. Suffice to say my mobile number was not given.
How chatting on the net can be completely different to what happened on this date has me completely stumped. I figured people were more crude on the net than in real life, but I guess that's not always the case. Apologies to anyone who might be offended by any of the above.

P.G. the guy who's going to travel that far to meet you is already in love. He's a fully qualified prospect, particularly if he's had an L.P.G. conversion.
....cute...[can God BE cute?]
Have had the odd 'chronic boy' do the 'journey'....one actually from the fishy place here... quite some time ago... and we remain fondly interested... from a distance tho... [goofy grin]....I am much too 'in-love' with my environment and lifestyle to think of relocating...my 'friend' has just recently decided to relocate up this way....so I may have opportunity to 'date' like normal folk maybe....woo-hoo?
Am more your 'HangerOuter' than 'Dater'....hanging out is more spontaneous...room to breathe..lol... a 'date' seems soooo structured and formal.....im rambling...im gone

| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/23/2008 4:00:58 AM | I think it was clip board lady, most intense woman i've met in my life(frightened the f*ck out of me actually)
Apart from my infernal shyness,i'm really really really picky.I proberally have no right to be,bit i am.There's women i'd like to ask out.........but i'm too butt ugly.
I enjoy putting my two cents worth in on the forums occassionally, don't feel the need to date unless i really really really like someone, maybe.

| So why DON'T you go on a date????? Posted: 5/23/2008 4:07:55 AM | ^^^Go on Bucky, ask her. We will all vouch for your impeccable character!!
Seriously though, if I went out on a date I would actually have to get dressed and try to make myself look presentable. Here I can sit in my dressing gown and slippers, with my facepack on and eat lollies. Its no contest really!!

I don't go on a date because it's totally wasting the date.... squashed date is not as good as a wholesome sweet date. Oh also I don't want to get my shoe sticky.

This is why the question was asked Rainbow,,, so you did or did not date some one from here
Mainey I met someone from here a little while ago, it was a total disaster for various reasons and I never saw him again, absolutely did NOT "date" him, did not name or shame him or go into details, just that people aren't always the way they represent themselves online, I ran away screaming
I also went on the first bike ride back in Feb, as you know, met lots of cool people but definitely didn't date any of them either lol
