First impression how important are they?

I borrowed well stole shhhhh from NFLD.

Just how important is a first impression? When someone is messaging you,how important is their grammer .

For example if someone sent you a message and said Hi how r u,instead of how are you, want 2 talk hit me up etc.....Does it make a difference would you give the person a fair shot?Or write them off as not being educated enough?

I am the first to admit my grammer isn't always what it should be,but I do try isn't that just as important?

First impression how important are they?

I think First impressions are very important. If i take the time to send someone a message, i check it over before i send it and make sure i fix any mistakes i find. Is it too much to ask for other people to take the extra minute to do the same. I find it interesting that there are people on this site who have messaged me with very brief, and very poorly written messages, (not just judging this on one messgae either) but when i check their profile they have a long detailed and very well written description of themselves and what they are looking for. Makes me wonder who wrote their profile for them, and where i can find them instead.

However i would like to add that i do answer everyone back, regardless of how their message is written. Which is more than i can say for others out there.

peiprincess - i've read a number of your posts on various forums, and i have never seen anything wrong with your grammer, so i would assume if you are writting your messages to individuals with as much thought and care as your posts display than there should be no problems on your end.

Thank you Captain Butterfly,I also answer all my messages, well at the least the ones where their being respectful.

The guys that start off with hey babe, hun, sexy I won't respond to anymore. Those kind of messages bother me more then if his spelling is correct,or if they use computer language.

I wouldn't necasserily write them off,at the same time though if they can't take the time to check proof the writing, makes me wonder how interested they are.

Lets face it were all looking to meet someone first impression do count.

First impressions can be important. Although I wouldn't ignore someone for having a typo or two. If they were ignorant and rude I might. If a grown man was speaking like a teen thug wannabe...that would just get on my nerves. There are possibilities for mistakes in spelling and grammar, I don't expect everyone to be computer literate, they could have great verbal skills, and just lousy on the keyboard.

For me, considering the situation, I might go for a 3 strike system. I think we have all made mistakes, and probably at the worst possible times, just wishing we could go back and re-do that moment. There are and will be situations that will call for a second chance, and others that scream...RUN AWAY!

First Impressions does last! Grammar? Is it important?
I reply to all messages within reason! Typo's... We all do that, no biggy!
But those messages with
"hi. what r u at" compared to
" hi, just finished reading your profile and thought I would send you a message to see if you might be interested in chat. Let me know, hope your day is going well, take care" Gives a he!! of a lot more meaning to it!
One message verses the other, shows interest, thought, time.... makes a lot of difference to the receiver of the message! "Male or Female" !
