Posted: 5/21/2008 2:37:36 PM | | Yes I also bought this yesterday along with the new Deicide album. It is amazing! Very heavy, thrashy and crushing. The few melodic moments and the guitar solos add to the chaos that fills my mind. Dismember was the band that got me into metal. This is as great as their first album and I like about everything they ever did. Has anyone here heard their new album? Or at least heard songs by this band? -Dre | |

Anyway the new CD crushes...They only had a mis-step or two in their career, but overall a very solid band...They are a big influence in what I play in my bands...
There is this whole "retro" thing happening in death metal right now...some people who quit the scene years ago are coming back and trying to cash in (like there is money to be made in this genre) or young bands are stating they are "old school" Gimme a break...been doing the same thing pretty much for 20 years now...that is all I know!!
The new Dismember album, to me, is like a big" f@#k off" to trendies...they have been there all along doing the same thing since they started...
As far as Deicide, I was never a fan...I never saw their appeal...Besides, Glen is kind of a jerk... | |
