The vehicle is scheduled to lift-off from its silo during a 03:01- 09:01 PDT launch window and send one unarmed Mk-21 reentry vehicle (warhead) on a ballistic trajectory. The impact area in south of Guam in a U.S. Navy test range. Glory Trip 197.

The total number of live, nuclear-armed missiles the U.S has fired is . . . one. In 1962, a sub in the S. Pacific launched a Polaris missile from underwater, and it went the full distance and exploded right over the target. I always figured President Kennedy wanted to see for himself that these new gizmos of the Navy's would work under real-life conditions--just in case he ever had to use them. | |
