I know back in the day people were more narrow minded and judgemental but I think in today's world it should not be an issue at all. If a guy can't deal with the actual number then the girl should not even be with that guy in the first place. I have come across several women who just completely lie about this and significantly lower thier amount. Where as guys tend to hyper inflate the amount.
I don't think a woman should feel shameful or bad about the fact that they have had a relatively high amount of intimate partners in the past. It is the present that matters to me. In the end the truth always comes out one way or another so, I think it is always good to be honest from the start. | |

Posted: 5/23/2008 5:31:16 AM | I like cktoronto's rule of 3's. I think that is probably pretty accurate. Who cares anyway how many people someone has been with. As long as they were safe and are faithful to the one they are with now the number should not be an issue.
Women are only sluts when they allow people to use them ,they have no respect for their body or they feel like one. It has nothing to do with the actual number. Just like I think men become man whores when their number is high due to them being dishonest and manipulative to get sex. If they have been honest in their pursuits then they just have a healthy sexual appetite. Nothing to be looked down upon or applauded. It just is what it is. | |

I also believe that the ultimate foundation of any relationship is honesty and if person is too ashamed to reveal what they have done in the past then that itself creates doubt about that person and what kind of a person they are.
I do not buy into the notion that it is not right to ask how many intimate partners a person has had in the past. This is because if you are going to devote yourself fully and completely to a person then you have every right to know what they have been up to in the past. However, I do agree that we do not have the right to judge that person for what they have been but rather appreciate them for who they are now. | |

If sex is so so personal and intimate then why do you have the right to know who they've shared that bond with? Yes our past does shape us into who we are today and that's who your with, the person they are today. Even as a partner you don't really have the "right" to know everything detail about someone's sexual past, unless, like I stated before it has health risks to you or causes emotional issues. (i.e. something traumatic happened to your partner). Consider it a gift if someone is willing to talk to you about their past exploits but by no means do you have any RIGHT to know. | |

and why would that be ...do you not believe in change ...do you not believe in redemption ...have you never done anything you were ashamed of ...if i was promiscuous in my teens am i damaged goods now ... if i slept around in the past can i not be faithful now ......do we not learn from our mistakes????? or is there a statute of limitations om promiscuity.....if you truley believe this way ...so be it ...I believe with every moment we have the power to change if we have the will ....how can we judge what kind of person someone is by their past acts ? no mater how bad how can we say that we would have done any better if in their shoes at that time in their life ....its fine if you refuse to forgive someone that wrongs you ...thats your loss ....but how can any act done before she /he knew you be done against you
what is the limit on sexual partners ...when do i arive at the point where one more makes me a slut/ satar .....for the most part all the people i have slept with were one at a time ...and most of them were the one at that time ...why then do i owe you or anyone a count or a reason ...take me as i am or take your ass elsewhere | |

Men go around sleeping with a bunch of women, and sometimes are encouraged to do so to be viewed as studly and experienced, and when a woman tries to do the exact same thing, she's then viewed as a slut, a whore, nasty, dirty and immoral.
It's about time women turned this around. I enjoy sex as much as any man, and if someone wants to call me a name because of it, I'd just view them as jealous and intimidated and completely ignore what they have to say on the matter. | |
