House and breakbeats

Hey everybody,

I'm starting to get into house music, and I was wondering if anybody had any good recommendations for me in terms of some early 1990's house, or some jazzy or funky house music.

Also, if anybody knows any good breakbeats to recommend, I'd greatly appreciate it! thanks a lot and good luck fishing!

Peace.

For House, try anything by Olav Basoski or Les Rhythmes Digitales. Im more into electrohouse, I could give you hundreds of recommendations for that.
For breaks, anything by Baby Anne, Jen Lasher, Stanton Warriors, Krafty Kuts, Plump DJs or DJ Icey.

House is more something you listen to in the mix... Check out the mixes at globalhouseconnection.com... those lean towards the jazzy and soulful. Then follow the links from there to other mix sites for more goodness.

Todd Terry, Masters At Work, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, MK, Pal Joey, Roman Ricardo (had some nice remixes), Mr Fingers, ...

Miguel Migs, Kaskade, and Dennis Ferrer are really good deep house DJs. I'm more into the dark tech-house and electro-house which is quite different from what you are looking for.

For breaks one thing I do is check this guys youtube channel...

He updates it regularily with new breaks that have been dug up. I'm referring to real funk breaks though not the more modern sped up versions.
