| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 5/24/2008 4:59:13 PM | This is a different perspective on the nipple visibility thread. When we went fun underwear shopping together recently we learned that the marketed features of underwear are not neccessarily the most desireable ones for either party. One example is bras. There are now all these bras with stiff "styrofoam cups", touting 'complete modesty,' 'no show thru' (and no feel thru btw ). I don't think this is much of a selling point from a man's point of view and so for her sexy-look choices she went with less eggcrate-type creations.
Why is this rigid un-nippled look marketed as a good feature? Are we all getting prudish or is it more that women worry about the show-thru nipples being not perfectly even and therefore unattractive? But, do men really care?
So here are the real questions: If the nipples are uneven are they still as much fun to look at, guys? Do you women worry about nippular asymmetry?

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 5/24/2008 5:17:55 PM | It's not that women are getting prudish at all... it's just that this whole notion of being "perfectly balanced" has taken over. It has never been considered sexy (by the fashion moguls only it seems) to have one breast bigger than the other. Even 25 years ago in the modelling industry, one breast was either enhanced or flattened to even them out. That is what these new foam cup bras do: even out the puppies.
Now having said that, I do like the way my breasts look in this style of bra.... and they do give a lot of support without all the seams running over the cups, which personally I don't like showing through my tops.
As far as nipple asymmetry goes..... yeah, I'll admit to readjusting the "girls" if I happen to notice, but I don't fret about it.... it's not like I say to my gf's "Hey... do my nips line up okay?"

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 5/24/2008 7:51:48 PM | I haven't worn a bra since I was breast feeding my son back in Feb. 1983. Also, I guess I'm really lucky that both my breasts are of equal size and not big and floppy ... actually considered (by my friends) as "perky".
Back then, I was a tremendous embarrassment to my then husband ... wearing T-shirts and blouses with the nipples showing. Oh Dear ... and that in a quaint little German town where everybody knows everyone. My goodness how the tongues were wagging.
When my one daughter was in college (2000) I didn't think about it and was visiting her at school ... I was divorced by then. I had just arrived from an eight-hour drive and it was about dinner time. I went up to her room to freshen up and change my clothes. She gave me explicit instructions ... I must wear a bra. I said, "Okay."
I didn't have one, and just went ahead and got dressed and we started out. I guess it was somewhere between the dorm room and the dining hall that she finally noticed that I didn't have on a bra. It was hilarious ... the look on her face as she stopped in her tracks and said, "Oh my God ... I can see your nipples ... you don't have a bra on! I'm so embarrassed!!!"
Of course now she's at an age that it's sexy for her nipples to show, but back then ... she didn't want to be seen with me in that state ... LMAO ... .
I can't imagine wearing an under-wire bra and not at all some sort of padded up thing. My girls would have conniption fits if I tried to do that kind of stuff with them. They were born free and will remain free ...
I used to wish I had larger breasts, but now celebrate that they were small and perky and nothing much has changed in over 45 years. (Sigh ... I was sort of a late bloomer.)
Last time I looked, the girls line up just fine and I've never heard the men complain ...

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 5/24/2008 8:51:45 PM | Actually just because of the girls i hang with a lot of it has to do with the fact that nipple piercings are SO common (trust me you know at least a couple of women even if they have never told you). If you can see them then the shape looks incredibly odd to someone who doesnt know what it is and its really embarassing to have someone comment on a deformed looking nipple. Barbells especially, because rings are a little easier to conceal unless theyre a larger guage.
Personally, i like some lace and a littlepoke through with the right set up. I hate the styrofoam feel, its just really unnatural. And if you didnt know by now EVERY woman has one boob different from the other in some way, unless theyre silicone. Ive always had one bigger thn the other and just got used to it. No ones perfect. you dont like it its not like im going to go get the other one padded out to please when it doesnt bother me.
I think if ur spending that much time worrying about if their nipples are symetrical you have deeper things to worry about. I mean eventually theyre prob going to be pointing to the floor anyway!!!!lol

Erect nipples are still considered 'taboo' by many, it's a sign of 'arousal' as far as many are concerned and it detracts from the look of the clothing that one is wearing [according to 'fashionistas; models go without panties or bras on the runway most of the time]. Do i care if my hard nipples are showing nope, unless I am at work, where our dresscode is beyond strict [but job security].
Guys I have dated never cared, past partners actually LIKED that they could see my erect nipples through my bras. It make them
I did some modeling and I got BONUSES if my nipples were hard [naturally] when I modeled as it made the bras and other lingerie or bikinis look better [aka more sexually appealing].
[quoteIf the nipples are uneven are they still as much fun to look at, guys?
I don't think my nipples are even any more, I nursed for over a year and with that stupid lump on one breast, I think it 'moved' where one sits. If a guy is that shallow as to 'measure' or care about the asymmetry of my nipples, then he has WAYYYYYY too much time on his hands.
Do you women worry about nippular asymmetry?
I don't care. There are 2 of them. They are attached. They are healthy as is the rest of the attached parts. Works for me. Teh rest is just exrta and not a big deal.

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 6/2/2008 2:21:34 AM | Case in point (a true story)...
Recently, while waiting for commencement to start, all of us graduates were in our caps and gowns lined up with a few family members sneaking in to take photos... A nice looking older lady speedily walks by in a silky tank and lightweight skirt. My young male classmate, the only male in my class, who is about 22 whispers..."Grandma isn't wearing a bra". I said, "what?" He repeated himself. Of course she was gone by then, but he made sure to point her out when she walked through again. I told him, "ya know they make pasties for that!"
Needless to say...Everytime I saw her, I remembered who she was and wouldn't dare let my eyes wonder below her neck or above her waist...LOL!
She could pull it off...but I prefer lining to cut out distractions...its not the asymmetry or anything. I have large breasts and nipples and men act like they are talking to them....

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 6/2/2008 2:52:21 PM | Being a person of um, a certain age, I think it's a pity that women are intimidated about going braless. Back in the 1970s it was quite common, and lots of women would rather be natural than let bra straps show. Now the ladies let it all hang out--all of the bra that is, and none of the breast. But I have to agree with Tblz and others, men will make a woman's life miserable if she doesn't conform. Or sometimes other women will, in other ways.
Whether it's Grandma or some young cutie, I think women ought to feel free to leave 'em free. But we guys have got to watch our manners.

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 6/2/2008 3:27:44 PM | sam i am...you kill me!
so here's my two cents...
Some of only wish they were "just" crooked. Being inverted, it could be 30 below and they damn things still wouldn't stand up! sigh...
Just give me a comfortable bra, that looks good without being too obvious. I will be happy!

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 6/4/2008 4:47:44 PM | Whether or not the girls are even is not of major concern to me. I wasn't a big fan of the lined bras when they first came out. The last thing I need is more padding. I still don't like them when thinking in terms of something sexy. That being said, for practical, day-to-day wear there are some benefits to them, mainly insulation. When it's cold (by weather or air conditioning), it may be entertaining for guys to see nipples, but after a few hours of sitting in air conditioning set to arctic levels, the little buggers can get rather sore. Another plus is that they give more top heavy women a prettier, seamless alternative to the types that look like they could be strapped the front of a tank. | |

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 6/4/2008 6:49:46 PM | I like wearing a bra and I enjoy buying them.. I have never measured but I'm sure they are off kilter a tad bit.. depends on where I am as far as nips showing through my top, at work not so much... but I used to get called on the carpet for cleavage anyway.. no need in the girls getting me into more trouble..
I have to say that a woman I worked with who had some hefty ones would get nips and they did point downward... I just had to chuckle... can't imagine that being attractive but different strokes..

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 6/4/2008 7:01:16 PM | In the 70's I never wore a bra.
Nowadays I usually do, but sometimes go without - my boyfriend loves for me to go braless. And part of that fun is showing the piercings!

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 6/4/2008 7:51:57 PM | | Being a rather small busted woman--I LIKE the styrofoam bras. These bras actually make my clothes fit better. They(the bras) are usually very pretty and I'm the only one that gets to see them--I'm not so sure that's a good thing, but it works for me for right now. | |

No more prudish than when I first started going bra-less in '70-'71! I couldn't find a bra that wasn't uncomfortable so took to wearing bandaids over the nips 'cuz they poked out "too much".
The new "show nothing" bras seem to be all that I can find right now (for when I want/need to wear one). It's either that or a sport bra!
But, I still enjoy going bra-less whenever possible. There are great benefits to being a charter member of the IBT club! (I didn't even NEED a bra 'til after I had kids!)

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 6/9/2008 11:58:30 PM | well i dont like these padded bras i can still go braless these days though they are not point properly forward they are still in a decent place. As for them sticking out, mine can go to an inch in length with my areola being about and inch and half across. I am blessed with light tan/dark pink nipples and they do show thru white tops, though when i was feeding they were twice the size and alot darker. my daughter used to get embaressed if my nipples were showing and was in her company, now she is 20. she shows hers off more in skimpy tops. Mine do have a mind of their own if braless but in summer top and dresses and no bras. they have made appearances LOL carole | |

| Nipples 201 - Mammary Support Mechanisms Posted: 6/10/2008 1:20:42 AM | | Maybe there is a market for padded bras that have a more perkey natural look to them . The push-up perky bra, The maternity purk them up bra, and the good old lacy perk them up bra. I think us poor guys wont get much work done though and car insurance would cost a hell of a lot more. I am all for the perky look though. | |

I like to sneak a quick caress and a bit of a pinch on the nipple when I think I can get away with it hehehe. Extra padding......boooooooooo
