| what is things you miss from relationships?

for me the biggest thing i miss since i became single is the companionship followed by a good back scrub when showering. they may seem trivial to some but to me they are the biggest losses. | |

Posted: 5/27/2008 3:04:13 AM | God ....absolutely everything. !!!.....even the fighting!!!...cause at least then we were talking !!!! but most of all someone to talk to about everything...yeah miss that the most, the person who "gets" me............ok yeah the sex and the intimacy and those quirky things and "in" jokes that only the two of you get...mm Id better stop now or I'll start bawling......

Have to agree with dimeadozen. I often wonder how being a single parent can be the hardest yet most rewarding thing you will ever do all at the same time.

Shopping for him, the little laughs that we shared. The intimacy (not just sex), and the way we used to talk about each others day, and future events.
But most of all, I really miss him, as a person, separate to the things I have listed above. | |

But even just affection like hugs and cuddles and squeezes and holding hands together watching a movie or walking down the street together.
Having somebody to share the day's events with.
Having somebody to complain to if you've had a bad day.
Or somebody to share your excitement and joy with if you have had a really good day like winning $10 on an instant lottery etc or buying a pair of shoes on sale and saving $50
Having somebody to cook for or cook for you.
Having somebody who welcomes you home and who you can't wait to see either at the end of the day. | |

We are social beings, we're meant to get close to 'significant' others. It adds meaning and a sense of belonging to the lives of many who manage to engage in it successfully.
I kinda miss doing stuff with someone special. I have some really close friends whose company I enjoy but it's not the same really... | |

I miss those really tight hugs.
I miss waking up and my partner being the first thing I see, and going to sleep snuggled together...waking later to find it all got too claustrophobic and I am now freezing cold cos he's pinched the doona. Of course, then you have to snuggle up to get warm, and it all starts over again.
I miss getting excited when it is nearly time for my partner to come home from work.
I miss laughing with my partner. I can't tell the kids the really rude jokes!
I miss having somebody to make coffee for (yeah, right!).
I miss having somebody who can pack the car properly.
I miss the way my partner holds my face when he kisses me...in fact, I miss kisses. Heaps. The dog is just not the same. | |

I pulled myself up short of listing all the things I miss because it would involve violin accompaniment for sure.
