stabbing in the city

There was another stabbing in the city this weekend leaving a man in critical condition in the hospital.

When is the federal government going to create a federal knife registry to prevent this from happening? We all know how the federal gun registry prevents people from shooting others, should be a no-brainer to enact the same sort of registration for knives; there's probably more stabbing deaths than shooting deaths in the country.

We can't ask the province to do it, they're going to be too busy chasing down people smoking with children in the car.

A knife registry?

You can stab someone with anything sharp. Who says it's going to be a knife that you bought at a hunting supply store? Most of these people are stabbing people with regular knives from the kitchen.

Would that mean I'd have to register my kitchen cutlery with the Federal Knife Registry? And what about plastic knives........you can buy those at the dollar store, for god's sake!

The point of this thread ( in case someone missed it) is that "feel good, warm fuzzy" laws like the firearms registry are a joke, it won't stop criminals from doing what they want.

Btw, I created this thread yesterday and it was deleted; I guess 1 or more of the moderators support the firearms registry ( dunno why, criminals won't register their firearms, so it has no effect on crime).

Amen to that.

FYI: A Chuck Norris roundhouse kick is currently registered as a lethal weapon in 49 out of 50 states in the US, the only exception being Rhode Island, where research continues on harnessing the power of a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick in the attempt to provide energy to the entire Eastern seaboard of the US.

That doesn't surprise me, what do you expect from a state calling itself an island when it's actually a peninsula? Americans, you gotta love the way they make you laugh... have you tasted what THEY call beer ?

yes the forum gods prefur BLOGS..............hahaha we have a 6 page one already...does not matter if they are written by 1 person.....too funny.

well lets see we have changed lighters cuz the lighter is to blame.
we have hard wired smoke detectors cuz clients take batteries for toys and let the home go without a smoke detector...cuz it is the landlords responsibility to make sure your rotten kids do not start a fire and torch your azz.
we have blamed gun owners for petty crime instead of parents for lack supervision.
do we see a common theme yet???

the point.............what happened with lighter...the government blames the lighter
makes changes to smoke detectors...etc
the public assumed the responsibility for out of control brats by changing the laws instead of layin the effect on the people involved in the incident.
when your kid is a lil chit do you blame all the kids around him...or do you set the consequence on his action????????????????????? i set the consequence on the kid cuz they learn to not follow when you kick there azzes for the choices in conduct.
does this make scence now????

when you hold the kid to there choice and do not alow the kid to slip away from the consequence they learn...when you blame other kids you teach that kid to follow.
that is what our government policy does best......blame the laws for lousy behaviour and uses examples of wacked upbringing to justify the waste of time.
smoking ban.gun registry, hard wired smoke detectors are all causes from what common denominator???? when are we going to hold individuals accountable and stop making excuses for them by changing laws that we have no one to enforse???

Stupid.

( sorry, couldn't resist)

Didn't know every thread was supposed to have a point; what's the point of the "Music while you post thread" ?

Guess the point is to discuss how use "pointless" a lot of laws enacted are ..

( register firearms to cut down on gun crime.... except criminals won't bother registering, so what's the point of the expense?)

( make smoking in cars with young children illegal ( yes, it's a health issue, but what other crimes are the police not prosecuting while wasting time with this?) )

What's next? no smoking in your own home because someone may visit & bring children with them? My home, my rules . ( and no, I don't smoke, but it appears the government is virtually making smoking illegal, while happpily collecting the tax dollars smokers generate).

When did accepting personal responsibity become politcally incorrect?

I like what most are saying about kids that need to be held responsible for their crimes. But what about the kids in care? The govt is their legal guardian.

So if you get jumped by a group of kids, the designer footprint on your face is technically paid for by a portion of your paycheque.

What rights should an average person have when it comes to teaching kids in care about discipline?

If you get jumped? Your right is to defend yourself; if you're able to I say kill the attacker ( then it's your story against their story) or cripple them ( I'd go with breaking their fingers and collarbones, not life threatening but it'll keep them from breaking the law for a while. Unfortunatley, chances are they'll attack as a group and if arrested will be too young to prosecute, or they'll be from broken homes, where they were beaten, and besides they're hooked on crack or were drunk at the time, so it's not their fault.

Why is being drunk an acceptable defense for assault, theft, and is an extenuating circumstance for manslaughter or murder, and yet if you're charged with DUI you can't use the fact you were drunk as an excuse?

Hey!!! I'm from a broken home ( parents divorced when I was 8), my father spanked me as a form of discipline, and I'm a middle child ( ask the psychiatric community about the problems associated with that)... guess I can get away with any crime I want...

No problem, I asked for it… threads don’t have to have a point, but you said this one has a point… ohhhh, ok… the point is stupid laws.

Stabbing people should be illegal... that'll fix the problem.

no, there's only one group that can actually get away with absolutely anything.............that would be the "wheelchair bound/communist/ anything but caucasian/ alcoholic/crackhead/zen buddhist/mommy-put-me-backwards-on-the-potty-when-I-was-a-toddler/unemployed/lesbians.

Little known fact....it's a very small special interest group..........actually only consists of one very pi$$ed off woman.......but if you get in her way, she has the god-given right to pull your spleen out with her bare hands, and there's nothing the legal system can do.

wheelchair bound

Btw, the "politcally correct ( ie: wtf does THAT mean?) term now is "differently-abled"

Don't ask the person that uses the term what "differently-abled" means tho, they'll just give you a dirty look, or spout some sort of gibberish.

Sorry Argyle.......that should have read "pull any non-Chuck Norris humanoid's spleen out with her bare hands".

Because, as we all know, if she tried to get to Chuck Norris's spleen with bad intent, she would no doubt pass away from mysterious roundhouse kick-related injuries.

The guy died today that murder number 16 in Winnipeg this year....we could have more than 40 by the end of the year!!!!!

Murder Capital of Canada? For Sure!

Perhaps murder Capital of the World!

But no fricking smoking in the car with any kids!!! Never mind that the air pollution is probably worst then the smoke in the car with the windows rolled up. Will Doer impose a ban on putting your kids outside because of the air pollution?

One women said to me there's nothing to do in this city but get drunk and have sex. She dead wrong. You can kill people too!!!!
