| What does "fun" mean???

but tend to find guys that are looking for abit of "fun"..
As its the 21st century and all..my kind of fun is not their kinda fun..
So,why is it when i say that to a guy..he runs....

Alot of guys see POf and other stes as an easy way to get a shag...sad I know, but true.
There are women/ girls on here who are happy to oblige them and so when you say tha you wont they then run.
Those guys are not worth a second thought...they are users and you are worth more than that. | |

FUN:
1: what provides amusement or enjoyment; specifically : playful often boisterous action or speech
2: a mood for finding or making amusement
However, I am afraid that most guys probably mean what you ladies think they mean. | |

Stay away from men on here who are looking for fun, unless you are wanting a one night stand as well.
Each to their own but I prefer fun as in not having sex with a strange man. Fun to me is laughing, giggling and doing what I enjoy and not having sex with a stranger.

well being an arrogant male chauvenist pig that you are i doubt you have an morals.
I agree with the girls, fun to me is not sex, its doing something you enjoy which dont mean having your clothes ripped off!!!!
And because i dont want to do that to get my fun, i dont expect to get mail from men "saying why not, everyone else does it, what makes you so special".
Its about time certain men on here, of a certain age, decided to grow up, and stop trying to relive their youth, and because their on tons of favourites, think it makes them a gigolo.

I've seen women who's prime interest is to be quick to want material pleasure (shopping, jewelry, etc...). If you ask me both are shallow pursuits and both sexes are prone to focusing too much on them. Also, isn't the term "chauvenist pig" overplayed? I've heard it too often used by people who are simply angry with a man and wish to sound smart but have no idea what the phrase actually means.
To turn this thread on it's head:
I'd like to ask what "fun" means in a different context. There are a ton of profiles on PoF where girls will say little more than "I like to have fun." I'm fairly sure that doesn't mean sex, but it's so vague that I usually pass by those profiles since the person didn't seem to give their description enough thought to try and actually engage someone checking it out.

I think this issue gets stated wrong over and over. I don't think anybody minds that people are on here looking for an intimate partner. What grinds so many gizzards is that these people (OK, men, fine) don't know how to ask for what they want. Generally, they lunge, grab, and mutter.
So, gentlemen! Fun is fun, which nobody can deny, but fun is not always welcome, let alone on offer. Let the lady at least have a chance to get used to your weird hair and that smell in your car. Practice taking an interest in her stories. Practice, otherwise, being gallant, as best you know what it is. Find something about her you like that isn't naked or slippery, and try talking about that for a minute.
Trust me, in comparison to the rest, she'll take you for a poet hero. And that's fun!

Posted: 6/1/2008 10:06:47 PM | Hey OP... just like most adjectives, 'fun' is a relative term... what may be classified as fun for one person, may not be classified as fun for another. On PoF you have to take the entire profile into consideration to try to define the individuals 'fun' , then speak to the person if clarification is needed
