Posted: 6/1/2008 11:44:02 AM
I was just wondering if I can use the term screwing around in my profile?
without it affecting future possible dates. (in the good way)
please feel free to tell me what you think of my profile (I'm a big girl i can take it)

Well, if you're concerned, I'd say "messing around." Probably more titillating than either "screwing" or "messing" is your "pole dancing" reference. That alone might get you the wrong sort of attention.

I think you're probably a very nice looking woman, except for your tongue sticking out. Can you get some other pics?

Wow, Bubbles, great photo swap-out. You're cute! I would add a couple more showing you in different situations. Scrubs? Whites? (Hey, you brought it up...)

Does Cdn vernacular consider "jiggly bits" to mean male genitalia? Is that what you meant to imply?

Doggie is cute too. I have read that pet photos can be a turn-off, but I think I'd rather have folks know in advance. Can you find/take a pic of the two of you?

Oh hi! I will be the token guy, although some people have suggested I have surpassed gender and merely... just exist.

Very contextual- and since it does not seem to appear in any context at present, a little hard to judge. Not that I am judgemental. I just do not like some people, different concept really. On the topic of 'jiggly bits' - it does imply smaller parts, hence the possibility of male genetalia. 'Wobbly bits' implies more volume and hence is more apt for the way you are using it.

'Screwing' can hardly be worse in any context than the idea of a pole dancing nurse though, so you can feel pretty safe to use it without affecting the general response.

On a whole, you need a serious re-write. Condense it, sort out the grammar and spelling which is apalling, tidy it up across the board. It hardly makes sense for a lot of it and does not convey much real information.

Well if that was what I wanted to do then I'd certainly put it on the list. In fact, be honest, how many people do you know who want to do just that? There is nothing better in my opinion and one can go around in abject anticipation for hours wondering, hoping that he or she will take you up on the offer. Delicious! And the screw at the end of it is often out of this world too, mostly because of the time spent leading up to it! Go for it, I say! Go for a good screw around! Mick.

Didn't see the earlier versions...

You're not just a nurse....I'm saying this as kindly as possible..do look at how often you mention it.

Don't get me wrong at ALL...I've been cared for by other angels of mercy and have nothing but the utmost respect for your profession.

Back to profile...it is just that...your profession/job. It's pervasive, gives the impression to a casual reader/browers of your profile that's what you are, instead of something you "do".

It's fabulous that you love your work...I do mine too..but when I drive home...roll the windows down turn up the tunes and enjoy my commute with the fantastic postcard scenery driving across the bay....that last thing on my mind is I'm a _____".

It's good to leave it there, it'll be there tomorrow, and while I get a lot of gratification and satisfaction from it...it's not my life. My life is what I do after...before and when I'm not there. Point made.

You're still making many of the common mistakes. Write more about YOU...the woman, the fun, bubbly person...no negatives..not what you don't like to or want to do.
Keep it positive, upbeat and entrall, excite interest...c'mon you can do it!!

I like it. More personal info than I needed but it didn't turn me off. 'Course, this coming from a guy with one of the most frightening profiles around.

Personality and attitude play such a huge role in the natural selection process and I find it one of the most challenging aspects of presenting ourselves online without the benefit of body language.

I think you've nailed it.

Well first let me qualify my reluctance to suggest change (have you SEEN my profile?) because I'm by no means a pro (God forbid I ever need to become one) at this medium. But I can tell you what I experienced in reading it.

The first paragraph in "about me" (except the last sentence) contained no information that intrigued me or, for that matter, described you.

Also, while the "cancer survivor" bit lends something to your character it's a little more personal than I would expect up-front on a dating site. I fully grasp why you put it in there because I suspect that the personal stregnth that carried you through that with such grace and dignity surely must go a long way in describing you.

If it's something you want to share with all, then by all means I encourage that. If, on the other hand, you think you'd rather share that privately with individuals with whom you intend to pursue, your profile won't suffer for it's absence - in my opinion.

Reading you profile made me want to know you more and, unless I'm missin' the point entirely, that is your objective.

I'll hold the "good luck" 'cuase I don't think you need it

I'm pretty crass as a whole so I'd say 'yes' to mentioning screwing around. Mind you in some ways I'm probably the last person to offer an opinion because I saw your profile in my 'matches' and read it, and then followed thru to the point of reading what you had to say on forums..

So whatever you said/did worked for me.

As to screwing around, this place (pof) has been an eye opener for me, the women that i've met have all had horror stories about people asking to see their more intimate parts in photos, or requests for kinky shit (which btw is fine, just not out of the random by some person that hasn't even bought me dinner)

I remember something from Red Dwarf about a character telling the other that women were not some alien species that needed to be tricked or something, they are just people. Same goes for men I suppose, if you want to use that phrase go for it, but you might find a few more freaks and nutjobs than you expected.. the upside is that the ones that think like you do will not even think of the other potential connotation's of that particular choice of words..
