He's very handsome, wealthy and he sounds really down-to-earth with a good sense of humour to boot.
I've spoke to him on msn and on the phone and we're meeting in a few days.
I'm not sure if I'm being too skeptical, but really. I don't get it. Why would he be on a dating site if all this is true.
Has anyone came across anything of the sort, and were they being real or was it all lies? | |

Up to this point he apparently hasnt done anything to break out the Red Flags, So why cant you just enjoy the moment... ???
I garantee that if you go into this with a Jaded and Calloused mind set.... You WILL have reason to be skeptical.

But if he is telling you about all his money after just a few emails and calls, then I think it is BS. People with money usually guard that and keep it private until need be.
They know people will want them for money so they keep that to themselves until you need to know about it. I guess though, if he feels the need to brag about it, he has voids in his life that he thinks money can fill.
Also, a lot of smart, attractive people are on here too, both men and women.
Trust your gut and go from there but you cannot assume someone is a liar before you have proof.

It ended after a few years, but it was alot of fun and YES he had money and all the toys that come with it... I just made poor judgement in choosing a man who wasnt ready for a comittment as he was just freshly divorced-- amazing how we can close our eyes to the things we dont want to see and choose a fantasy. . . STILL it doesnt mean nice attractive wealthy men dont exist on line as they do anywhere else... seems the issue here is whether or not YOU can choose to believe it... online dating isnt just for losers anymore! Posted: 6/1/2008 2:40:17 PM | I have and my guess is that he's lying to you or married or some other thing. You have already seen the red flag. For your own sake, don't ignore it. Check him out before you meet and if you do decide to meet him, ask to see his driver's liscense and then check on him again referencing the info on his liscense. If he's for real he'll understand your caution and will abide you request.

These days the "net" seems to be the way of doing everything. And I see this site as a cross section of the "real world". There are your players, your lonely people, the ones wanting a "short term" thing, the ones wanting their life partner, and the ones wanting just friends or a social life. Yes there are also the total nutters, but show me a bar in any town that doesnt have its fair share of those!
Give the guy a chance, if you had met him in a bar you would have jumped at the chance of going on a date with him. Maybe he is so wealthy because he works so much and doesnt get out much to meet anyone.

But he had been hurt by his ex wife, and would say that he loved me, but couldn't take me saying "I love you" to him.
In the end, he said that he couldn't cope with a relationship.

I just can't seem to take him seriously. Apparently he owns a helicopter and a speedboat.
It just sounds a bit much.
^^^^^^^ Well ask him to come and pick you up in his helicopter and if he doesn't show then you know it's BS.
And he can't use the stuck in traffic excuse...
Except if he runs out of gas....it means he probably crashed and died.

Posted: 6/1/2008 4:24:37 PM | I've had the experience of dating extremely wealthy men, but was not even aware of it before we went out. Rode in their Escalade's, TT's, Porsche's, airplanes or saw their home(s) and they were all extremely kind. Too bad I never felt any chemistry with these guys.
Oddly I find the middle class so much MORE FUN!!! The Randy Van Rich A$$es of the world may think their lack of personality will be overlooked for material wealth. It ain't. Give me a burger and a funny guy any day!!! | |

A while back, there was this "female" in the forums who had the looks and she claimed she had a lot of money to travel around the world blah blah blah. It turns out she was a phoney. Her pics were lifted off the net. It was a troll. I knew it. I smelled a rat....it did not add up. Some of the people believed her shit until the end. | |

I think I talked to the same guy.
After a few weeks and him talking about his many houses and cars etc......
Come to find out he was hooked up with a realtor who did home staging and who had people with nice furniture (rented of course) live in these beautiful vacant houses so they would sell faster.
The only car I ever saw was leased (he let that one slip) and the boat and helicopter never materialized.
The businesses (he said he had many) he own turned out to be web designing from his laptop on the kitchen table.
Oh and yes he was married.
Ask for his drivers license when you meet, bet he will have forgetten to bring it or not want to show it to you. | |
