Posted: 6/1/2008 6:15:23 PM | | I thought this week was the worst week of my life but I was shallow in thought. I will relive this week over and over just not to get the call. The call I received going church was Dave's in the hospitial. I did not go to church and when to the Licking Memorial. I went there for him and his family for support. I found him laying there out then awaken that was not the Dave I know. He when from the fourth floor to ICU. I saw myself there 12 years ago. I know the pain and not knowing and just standing there with my hands tied. We do not know what going on after 18 hours in the hospitial. He is in Licking Memoral for right now and hopefully soon Columbus. Please have Dave and family in your thoughts, heart, and prayers. The Dave in question is dwhetherholt. | |

Dave is in ECU and being monitored very closely by the Doctors and Nurses who work there. They diagnosed Dave with encephalitis which is a very serious condition that causes swelling of the brain. This condition came on him very suddenly, Dave was out and healthy at midnight Saturday night and within hours was in ICU at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio. Licking Memorial was inept at figuring out what was wrong and Dave’s parents had him flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus on Sunday evening. Grant seems to be doing everything humanly possible to help Dave recover... | |

Posted: 6/4/2008 11:18:35 AM | | I got mine in Sagatuck Michigan 33 years ago It was St. Louis enciplitics-spinal mennigitis viral from a misquito bite at the base of my neck the only real pain I remember was fever pain like a bad flu but I was very hot..It started out like a stroke had a seizure then my eye sight went blurry I was basically blind for a time..My mother tells me my brain fried I died and came back twice before waking up when I did come to I lost the use of my legs, I couldn't remember things it takes along time to recover some people never do some end up like me 17 years old the rest of my life..Some people get seizures..I believe Dave will pull through there are alot of people praying for him...Some of my family is even praying for him..God Bless. | |
