Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I completely demolished my old profile because it was lame/didn't get any responses. I think the problem with the old one may have been that it had too much of a "goody two-shoes" thing going for it. Anyway, how does it look presently? Any improvements?

whats with the application form?
how about if you want to get to know someone, you talk with them?
i wouldn't fill that out.
ask me and i'll tell you but it's not a job appication.
do you really need to screen everyone that ridgedly before talking to them?
what on earth would you talk to them about there after?

just a thought.

Well, seems you don't have the goody two shoes thing going on any more.

Male seeking Female, right? Just needed to check....

I was entertained in the beginning. You lost me at the end. I thought the "application" idea was unique, but hey, I am new so what do I know. But being new and just having to fill out a gazillion similar questions to set up my profile, you lost me. Maybe the idea works in a paired down version of 10 questions max?

Also, maybe I got lost but I didn't get much on the woman you seek. Is it a Lucretia Borgia, Ann Boleyn, Princess Leia?

You are a unique one, you are. I hope not too unique....

May the force be with you.

Oh, it was just a joke. Of course I promote talking. I deleted the whole application now to avoid confusion, but I did preface the thing by writing:

From my profile, shortly before being deleted:
Oh, if you need help writing an email, you're welcome to (but by no means required to) copy, paste and fill out my Girlfriend Application below: -_^

Male seeking female, indeed. It says "I am seeking a: Woman" at the top, I think.

However, you make good observations, so like I said above, I deleted the whole application thing (which was just a joke, in any case) and added a section near the end for "Who I'm seeking". Here it is below, for your convenience:

Found in my just-updated profile:

Who I'm seeking:

I have only three strict requirements; "fundamentals", if you will. I'm looking for someone who is:

1.) Female
2.) Attractive
3.) Intelligent

And that's about it! I'm adaptable to virtually all types, and I don't discriminate in regard to race, age, or height/weight (within reason). Regarding the age thing, I do have a slight preference for "older". There's extra credit, though, if you're a nerd, if you're "artsy" and/or have a creative personality, or if you're one of those elusive "gamer girls". I know you're out there somewhere.

Oh, and you're an instant winner if you're either a.) a librarian or b.) a candidate for being the main villainess in a movie, such as if you have a Russian accent and carry a sword. (Reference to Dr. Malko in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I just recently watched this movie for the second time, so bear with me.)

Do you think this added section, and the deletion of the whole "application" thing, helps?

Also, in regard to the "You are a unique one, you are. I hope not too unique" comment..... yes, I am indeed a unique person. I thought I would accentuate it instead of disguise it, since it seems like a whole lot of the critiques say that people's profiles are too bland or otherwise indistinguishable.

Also, the "review guide" that's pinned at the top of this subforum says:

From that one profile editing guide:

On POF, you get the results that you deserve. Boring people make boring profiles and get boring results. Fun people make fun profiles and get fun results.

With my old profile, I got boring results (actually, that's an understatement. I got no results at all.) So, that's my rationale for this new one. Hopefully it's not too over-the-top, since this one is very "brutally honest" me.

Remember, OP, I didn't mind the application idea....thought it was just long. Save gas and buy a hybrid.

The fundamental list is the thing I think you should delete. It doesn't fit with the creativity of the rest of the profile and your fantasy style worked for me. Stick with it. I think you copped out a little by saying you were adaptable to virtually all types. You are already way out on a limb so don't pull back now. Stay there and see who lands on your branch.

I am still worried you are very stylized, but hey, where you may lack quantity, you may gain in better quality.

Good luck!

I've decided to keep that one. Granted that the profile is now quite eccentric, but even so, I'm going to be "open" for the same reason I don't put up any message filters. I've only gotten one first-contact message in my six months of being here (outside of the forums) and I have a 1-in-30 message reply rate, LOL, so I can't be too strict.
