| Refs whistle blows: "OK, Presidential race do-over!" We have a vast pool of thousands of brilliant men and women in the areas of education, business, science, research, charitable foundations, and a few in politics. Are these three candidates REALLY the best we can show the world?????
Who would you really like to see running this country?

would you rather have King George Bush the First continue to run the show? He is keeping us safe from terrorists you know.

What I would like to see discussed is the idea of better possible leaders drawing from other areas, ie; Fred Smith, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Michael Bloomberg, rather than purely the gene pool of politics.

Sure, you could find better intellectually-qualified 'contenders', or those w/ more impressive accomplishments......but how many of those would take the job w/out a gun to their heads?
What's that old saw about "Absolute Power"?
How about we just automatically ban anybody from running that actually wants the job?

I think there was a reference similar to that in the Hitchikers guide to the universe; something on the order of, "anyone capable of getting themselves elected to office, are usually the least qualified to hold it."

"Great" said in the way Bush might say it along the lines of "Iraq poses a significant threat", "if I find out anyone was involved in the leak they'll be fired", "mission accomplished" kind of way? Ok, that I get.

Any brilliant individual is certainly smart enough not to join the insanity of politics. Not only do we dig into the candidate's political views, we also delve into their personal life where we have no business. We all have something we would like to hide, why not politicians?
Our access to media and internet allows us to see so much information on the candidates. Shameful as it is, the general public believes what it reads or sees on television. True or untrue, any individual running for public office is smeared with a filthy brush.
I consider myself to be bright with plenty to offer and I believe I'll stay home and do what I can for my local community.

Another person who obviously didn't pay attention in school. . . Hasn't accomplished anything in her post and can't speak clearly. Yeah, she'll be at least a VP candidate, if only it weren't for that skin color and gender thing!
Go after George Will. At least he is articulate, oops, just eliminated him from contention.
OK, how about the cowboy guy from are you smarter than a fifth grader? Is it OK for the repug candidate to be smarter than a fifth grader?

Even though I think McCain offers much of the same policies as Jr. did I don't think he is nearly as arrogant, cretinous, or prone to bald-faced lies.

And since I know that will not happen any time soon, I would love for him to be an advisor to the president, to bring in a completly fresh approach to health care, education, and the criminal justice system.
This two party same old same old is weaving a web of destruction about us, and enslaving the average American by virtue of our dependents. I am of course talking about the politicians who are our dependends since we finance them and their decisions, and medicare, meidcaid, ssi, welfare, food stamps, the outrageous fraud, the sweet heart deals, the political pensions and the government pensions.
Yes I would love to see Dr. Hagelin have a say in governing our government!
