Posted: 6/9/2008 9:41:41 AM | ok every so often we get a list of matches.my matches do not match. by this i mean,most of the men are nonsmokers,and we all know how some feel about people who smoke.most do want to date a smoker[this is their right]and i respect that.
so my question is are they any ideas,ways,that you think our matches can be better set up??i know a tough one and whos to say it would work,but it's worth a try. | |

I wish they'd "tweak" the computer generation to include interests and habits. Besides the smoking issue my matches always seem to include guys who list 101 different athletic interests (you know, the "I run 10 miles before dawn, bike to work, kayak home and play tennis in sub-zero weather" profiles). Uhmmm I really don't think we'd be a match, in any way, shape or form. | |

Posted: 7/6/2008 11:49:42 AM | crazygurl, you always brighten my day, with a laugh or something, you never fail me, but this time, you hit my sore spot too. The matches are nothing but a way of seeming to offer us POFers something without actually giving us anything. So what, if nothing else it's good for a laugh. After all, POF is still run by one man in his own home, somewhere in B.C., with a lot of moderators babysitting, and a few thread snipers keeping it spicy. It was meant to do good when it began, but it's so big now it's just impossible to manage. It's impossible for POF to do what it was meant to do, there are too many trollers, snipers, stalkers and the like on here now.
I joined with a sincere desire to find my soul mate, or at least to find friends, I found friends for sure, but no soul mates, just loads of possible bed-mates. It would be nice if it could work out that we all find just what we're looking for, and that might happen if the 'matches' were better sorted and thought out. You're right, all of you, it's the forums that keep us here now. | |

viewed me mmmmm i don't have luck there either as most who do are non-smokers.i well not send a non-smoker an email.it is their choice on who they date,i for one am a smoker and do not hide it.
maybe we could just all hold hands and sing a happy song!! | |

Posted: 7/6/2008 7:01:31 PM | i even have bad luck with the fellow smokers..... have met a few who were offended because i have kids and therefore blow my smoke out the patio door instead of making them breath it in with me and have my house stink. have had a few guys get offended because i expect them to do the same.
