| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 5:48:10 PM | Would you date someone if they saw something in the sky they couldn't explain, but insisted it was an alien spacecraft?
Assume this person was employed, fun to be with, and a seemingly thoroughly reasonable person in every regard, but insisted he had seen a flying saucer and he thinks that we are "not alone"?
Would that be a deal breaker for you if you didn't also believe?

| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 5:54:15 PM | Yes, but if she said they abducted her and took her to another solar system, made her give birth to alien babies, then I might have an issue with that.
Damn aliens can get lucky but I can't, guess I should get a spaceship, LOL

| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 5:54:45 PM | Uhhhh makes me think of the episode in Soap where Burt Campbell thinks he is an alien lol...go out with him--take him on a walk at night--and say omg did you see that??
No I don't think I could date someone who sees alien aircraft and thinks 'we are not alone'

| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 6:00:11 PM | | As long as he allows me to be uncertain of his beliefs and that we don't have to put on capes and drink poison Koolaid, I could find it kind of interesting. | |
|
| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 6:02:04 PM | | Not a deal breaker for me. If they are reasonable in other aspects of life and happen to believe in something I don't, it's ok. I don't have to share their beliefs to respect that they believe them. | |
|
| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 6:06:25 PM | I dunno, just statistically I find it unlikely we are the *only* life in the universe. So believing there is life out there, somewhere... not a problem.
Bug-eyed monsters visiting earth, I dunno... but I'm not totally against the idea (I've had a DOD clearance, trust me, the government *can* keep secrets).
As long as they aren't wanting to sit on hilltops every night hunting for UFO's, I dont' think I'd care. Hell, I'd even visit Roswell... might be fun, even if just for the hype... the 'disneyworld of UFO'logists'
|
| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 6:07:13 PM | Of course. I'd much more likely date them than someone who insisted we are the only life forms in all of the universe.
^^ahhhh, we had the same thought.....

| WHY...Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 6:16:56 PM | every single 'alien' believer . . . end up being kinda whacked
aliens/lights in the sky are ...
#1 . . military, or some other real aircraft when the stelth bomber was being developed in the 80's there were endless reports of "UFO's" over the testing ground
#2 . . . shooting stars or light reflections
#3 . . . angels , manifesting themselfs . . either good angels . .or evil angels...
paul the apostle said "its no marvel for Satan to transform himself into an angel of light"
and in the end times , biblical prophets said there would demonic manifestations - that would decieve many
funny how the... freaky...hippie...new agers run to UFO's as some kinda of savior of mankind. . .
in the end.. UFO people are just whacky , who needs that? life is hard enough as it is...
find someone grounded...

| WHY...Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 6:24:40 PM | | I had a relationship with someone like that. Look to all the other things in life people think are real but not based on any facts. They carry a lucky charm, is that a deal breaker? | |
|
| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 6:26:47 PM | the alien phenonema... is a very good point for collective conciousness or the holographic universe theories...
this is a small..... example... 1. take a piece of paper.... and draw an alien...
after you draw the alien....... ( yes most people draw a big rounded cone shape head with pointy chin huge eyes. and colour it green....
now ask yourself.... have you ever seen an alien?
if you have never seen an alien... why did you draw it like that? b/c youve been taught through media.. and movies.... alleged sightings /.....that what 1 looks like...... so just putting a concept /thought etc into collective conciousness ... can cause belief... virus marketing works that way also... as does getting movie stars/celebs... free products so they wear them/use them... and masses .. go out and try and copy them...
people can believe in what ever they want......... thats freewill.

| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 6:49:17 PM | With oil prices the way they're headed lately, its about time the secret government shadow organization that has kept the aliens secret for the past 50 years releases some of that alien technology that'll give us a new energy source, powering our cars out of neutrino particles in the 'ether', right??? | |
|
| powering our cars out of neutrino particles Posted: 6/14/2008 6:56:51 PM | . . . "they" say . .. . some of the military's technology came from alien space ships !!
wooooooooooo ehhhhhhhhhhhhh ! !
cept the energy part...
most fighter jets can only stay in the air for 1.4 hrs
with 1600 pounds of fuel !
soo much for . . . "alien technology" . . .

| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 7:19:12 PM | Many people believe THEY are out there....but then..we don't know what the govenment is protecting in our own back yard...do we?
They are not going to tell the average Joe Doe that they are spending LOTS of tax dollars on experimental aircraft...and it crashes...billions of dollars down the hole..
I do not believe in humanoid type creatures with bulbous heads zipping around in our atmosphere.....just to observe all the insanity earth is all about..yet if someone comes to me believing such fantasy....all I can say is .....prove it.

| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 7:24:57 PM | That would be tough hopefully she would not bring it up much. I believe that there could definatly be life on other planets but seeing an unidentified flying object and thinking, OH ALIENS! I mean seriously what kind of aliens are these, they come here and crash there ship's and stick things up people asses. They must be drunk teenage aliens or frat aliens. | |
|
| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 7:40:49 PM | I'd be less likely to date someone who DIDN'T believe in other intelligent life in the universe; c'mon, its awfully big, and arrogant as hell of us humans to presume there is no other life out there but us! But I'm not so sure our little planet is worth visiting for a species that has interstellar spaceflight. Or maybe they have something like the Prime Directive, ie. we aren't advanced enough to contact yet. Hey, maybe the UFOs people on Earth have seen are "Teasers", like from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (not that awful movie, but the original BBC mini-series)...lol
That being said, I do draw the line at tinfoil hats!

| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 7:46:29 PM | Lol. I dated a guy that was convinced that he was (and alot of us are) from Mars. It used to have ice and he was convinced it had life and we are all aliens transported here. Um, ok.
Though I found out that this belief was the least of his problems.

| Would you date someone who believed in UFOs? Posted: 6/14/2008 7:49:39 PM | I have a sneak suspicion that the OP is really the wife of Dennis Kucinich.
I would most generally view someone that believed that we were the only intelligent life in the universe as pretty naive.
