Anyone try smoking chocolate? One of my BBQ recipe books, by Ted Reader, has it ... sounds to be good (Banana fritters with Smoked chocolate sauce).

I want to try something different, but I don't want to waste a big lot of chocolate and have it go bad ...

For you that have done it, what flavor chips did you use in your smoker?

In this case, with the difficulty of getting the smoke flavor into chocolate. (it would have to be melted to absorb the smokey flavor.

The easiest way, would to just add some liquid smoke.

well the recipe book says to place the chocolate on the top rack, fill the water/greese tray with water+ice cubes (to smoke it cool and not melt the chocolate right away) and smoke it as manuafatures instructions (it does doesn't mention the flavor to use though) ...

and hahaha on the keeping it lit ... you never seen the chocolate episode on the simpsons ... they used to smoke cocoa back in the day ...

I was without power for a week after a hurricane. As the freezer was defrosting we were throwing everything on the grill. I discovered not everything goes well with that wonderful smoky grilled flavor.

If you try this, let us know how the results!
