| Jobs in the KW area Posted: 6/15/2008 9:26:22 PM | I am currently working retail but am only getting 15-25 hours a week. I am needing to move out on my own within the next month or so and am unable to support my self on so little hours. I get my current scedule a month in advance, so I figured it would make things easy for scheduling if I ahd gotten a second job. I've had very successful interviews but am not given the job because they want full availability even though it is only a part time position. I find that when people drop off resumes at my store my manager will toss them if they are looking for part time, even though there are only 15 hours a week to give.
Why are employers demanding full time availability if they only have part time hours to give?
Do you have any recomendations as to places I can apply to in the cambridge or kitchener area that are in need of full time? I have experiences in retail, call centers and food services.

I can't say if they are hiring now but, I use to work in the same building as Rogers' call centre is in Downtown Kitchener on Frederick St. and Weber St.. I know they were always hiring new people and they pay quite well. It is shift work but it is definitely a job that pays enough for you to live on your own.
