Posted: 6/17/2008 4:52:58 PM | Someone added me to her favorites which I assume means she wants to hear from me... but I'm a year older than her preference and she blocks emails based on age.
There ought to be a carve-out for that exception-- if someone blocks emails based on criteria, someone on her favorites list ought to be able to email regardless of the restriction.
A suggestion for software update...

While I haven't had this come up myself, I would be disappointed if it did happen!
Maybe even a warning to the person when they add you "so-and-so can't message you because of your contact restrictions" (although I suppose that could be confusing depending on the reason. Some of the contact filter hits are not evident when reviewing someone's profile, such as "must not have contacted users looking for intimate encounter") | |

Go into your profile and change your birth date so you can email her. However, to meet the ethical standards, let her know what you did to get the email through, then go back and correct the birth date in your profile.

Even though you may have been added to someone's Favourites, and should have had all Contact Restrictions removed, keep in Mind, that Messaging Content can still be filtered/blocked by the Site's Scam and Spam Filters, such as Profanity, Banking Terms, the Names of certain restricted Countries & Hosting Sites, etc.
Carefully study the following linked Reference to make sure your E-Mail is not being blocked:

By the way, I thought of changing my age, sending a message then changing it back, but the site doesn't allow age changes once you've been a member for some period of time (14 days, if I remember right). | |
