If they were, they would not continue to post or check if they've gotten any mail, etc...

Posted: 7/30/2008 6:06:50 PM | I've actually been "gone" from here for awhile. And actually, I didn't meet him here, though he did introduce me to this site. (Irony of ironies!) But, I'm pleased to report I was married yesterday afternoon to the sweetest guy I've ever known. We met on another matching site, several years ago, and became friends. He had at the time, several kitties, and I'm allergic to them. So, at that point I decided we were better off as friends. Flash forward a few years, and, lo and behold, my older son took up with a young woman who has 2 cats. Obviously, I'm not going to cut off my son because he lives with cats! So, I decided to take another look at the cat issue with respect to my longterm friend. Come to find out, I don't seem to have much allergic reaction to his cats, nor, for that matter, to the ones at my son's house. (Either I've somehow "outgrown" my allergy, or these particular cats don't have much of the enzyme that triggers the allergy.) So, our story has come to a happy ending, at least, insofar as there is a "happy ending" to an ongoing and continuous journey known as life. I honestly didn't think I'd ever marry again, being a 3-time loser at matrimony and not wishing to become ridiculous, a la Mickey Rooney or Elizabeth Taylor. Yet, here I am. 
I guess the moral to the story, if there is one, is that as long as there's life, there's hope, and sometimes what you're looking for turns up in unexpected places, and is closer than you think. I wish everyone who's still looking the very best, and I think this site is a good resource, taken with the normal caveats.
Happier than I ever thought I'd be, and pretty sure I got it right this time,
