| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 7:29:33 AM | and believe there is a heaven (doubt it but fun question follows) do you think we would be able to eat in heaven? What would we have access to and what would you want? How would food be served? DO you just wish for it it or imagine it and it comes to you? It would be nice to eat and not have to worry about health problems. Food I would definitely want includes beer, chocolate, steak, tiramisu, chicken cordon bleu, BBQ ribs, potatoes au gratin and sushi. | |

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 7:43:23 AM | Jews, Christians and Muslims all believe in the resurrection of the body.... and since the body needs food I expect there will be food there.
The scriptures tell us of a tree that bares 12 different types of fruits (revelations). I imagine of setting with my feet in the river that runs through and eating that fruit. The scripture also says that all our needs will be met and since food is a need I'd think God, in his infinite wisdom, will make provision for that.

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 7:57:37 AM | Oh yes, there is many mentiones of a heavenly banquet table, and a place set for us who believe. I just hope I'm not the caterer when I get there. And remember the song, in heaven there is no beer, that's why we drink it here, and when we're gone from here, all our friends will be drinkin all the beer. But if beer glorifies God forever, then we can have it. Wouldn't be heaven without mangoes. | |

Actually from what I've read our glorified bodies won't have any human needs such as sleep and eating. But we will do those things simply for enjoyment. I hope we have all the food we have on earth. Wouldn't be heaven without food. and definitley mangos.

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 8:17:48 AM | | interesting thought..... Beer predates Christ, and there is mention of it in the Word, I hope there's beer and wine in heaven! | |

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 9:40:13 AM | Well from the scriptures God provided daily manna from the skies for 40 yrs for a whole nation of His people so I imagine He has the capability of providing for His saints. Also since Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding festival (reportedly darn good stuff too) and since His believers are known as his brides I suspect that wine will be on the daily menu since praising, feasting, and continious joy are part of walking on streets of gold amongst the many mansions prepared. Optional menus may include mangos, sushi (Jesus and the disciples were fishermen), olives and sweetbreads......... | |

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 10:22:48 AM | | Since the OP mentioned God and Heaven I would assume he is referring to the God Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. | |

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 11:31:31 AM | Where is all this food supposed to come from? Is there farmers in Heaven? Does god raise cows...for my T-Bones? Does God Pay gorcery store baggers minimum wage? Is the gas or electric in heaven? | |
|
| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 12:14:42 PM | This gives a whole different meaning to the expression:
Food for the soul.
Do we have to cook our own food? I'm really getting tired of cooking. Maybe there will be fly thru restaurants???

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 12:53:48 PM | So is there going to be anglefood cake in Hell and Devil's food cake in Heaven? I would imagine we are all just going to be food for the roots while we are eating dirt sandwiches. | |
|
| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 1:08:07 PM | | too funny dayna! I had my fill of dirt sandwiches as a kid. I am looking forward to the devil's food cake now! | |

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/20/2008 1:20:44 PM | | Yes, you could probably eat all of those things, but the difference is you wouldn't gain a pound. That's how you'd know it was heaven!!! lol | |

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/21/2008 4:12:41 PM | In answer to SA guy,
Perhaps it would help you if you read your bible, it certainly answers a lot of questions. Also it talks abut the supernatural, keep reading, its amazing what you can find that will help you through this life on earth.
Perhaps starting with Proverbs would be a good idea. I call it my manual for daily living.
Good luck in your quest, dont stop, keep asking questions......you never know what can happen once you start to understand the answers.... and as for food, Im sure we will be fed in a way that is foreign to us now...

no, lobster is not kosher. kosher seafood has to have fins and scales and it has to swim.

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/21/2008 6:10:25 PM | All these rules....I'm SOOO going to hell.
If pleasure in the devine flavors of cloven hooved beasts and hard exosceletal crustations is a sin then let my fry...in peanut oil with some fresh veggies and a bit of tofu if you please, heavy on the garlic and ginger to rid my flesh of it's sinful gamey taste....

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/21/2008 6:30:12 PM | If ya get to heaven, you won't have time to worry about eating anything. You'll be busy, full time, singing psalms, (which ya don't do on earth) Praying, (likewise), playing a harp, ( and ya can't even manage a mouthorgan on earth) and doing God's good things, (which you've never managed before). See? There's nothing to worry about. You'll be too busy trying to figure a way out, to worry about eating anything! | |

No believe me when I say most of us are looking down to eating mounds of food. Women won't have to worry about gaining weight from eating and us men won't have to worry about losing muscle tone. Seriously its not heaven without food. Why else is there angel's food cake, other foods described as heavenly and why is chocolate "the food of the gods"?

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/22/2008 2:06:47 PM | This is a very interesting question since the bible does speak of tables and feasts being set before us and also that there are no physical needs in heaven. I would have to go back and study, but perhaps the feasting mentioned is done during the millenial reign of Jesus on earth before the final judgement when all go to heaven or the other place.
If food were to be eaten in heaven, I would tend to think it is not a dream it and get it kind of food. More likely it would be the natural foods from trees that were originally created and hold so much meaning in the scriptures. God does not ask us to be vegetarians on earth, in fact he says not to do so for religious reasons. That said, eating meat was a consequence of sin. Since there is no sin in heaven, I don't see meat on the menu.

| For those who believe in God? Posted: 6/22/2008 2:23:08 PM | Hmmmmmm...I disagree. I like to think that food will be on the celestial menu and it does include meat. We just won't have need for Lipitor! | |
