I would like to know the best beach, best location, best hotel and best place to go with my child (10 yrs) the 3rd week of August.

You might want to consider that August is major hurricane season in the Carribean.
"The Caribbean hurricane season lasts from June 1 to November 30. In the past 125 years the Domincan Republic (DR) has never been hit by a hurricane in June, the first month of the hurricane season. Records show only four tropical storms or hurricanes have affected the DR in July. August and September are the months when most hurricanes have hit. "
The prices are usually cheap, but its chancy.

Posted: 6/23/2008 9:37:10 PM | Punta Cana in August? It is WONDERFUL. Now, a hurricane could put a damper on things. I remember holding my breath four summers ago because a hurricane was to blow thru there ,but ended up hitting Jamaica(I think) instead.
Stayed at the RIU Palace and LOVED IT!!
Couldn't resist a little fling with one of the towels boys,too.....but I digress | |
