Hiya peeps!

Work is sending me to Belfast . I've not been there before so I decided to stay on for a few days after and have a look around. I'm on a VERY limited budget so was wondering if anyone had suggestions on cheap of free stuff to do while there?

Much appreciated

Have you tried gotobelfast.com

Just found that site today after posting! I'm now thinking I might go to the Belfast Hills if the weather is good. Would be nice to know people's opinions on what's good to do though :)

I'm planning on doing a tour first day cause I figure a bus tour would maybe drive by places I would want to explore more in depth.

Thanks for the replies!

Hi there, hope u enjoy your visit.

U could go walk around the city hall, inside, outside u have the belfast big wheel.
Lots of cafes at reasonable prices but avoid victoria square, very dear.
Bus tours are good and do explore the two communities that were once divided, so enjoy. Its all good and the people are fab

op posts was last month,so maybe shes been and all,...mr fishcake,id suggest the empire, thats in botanic area of belfast,..uselly good for live bands,...as a poster said ,the big wheel,i think its about 7 0r 8 quid a go,....theres a fish with r.i.p john peel wrote on it,...the new victoria centre,...there is quite a few bars clubs in shaftsbury square/dublin road,..food places,if your going out during the day,(i take it you will be unless your a vampire),...the oddessy is good, round the titantic quarter, city hall,...a bit futher afar you could go to belfast castle,or scrabo tower.hope that helps.

There's a great pub called The Crown near the bus station. It's the only pub owned by the National Trust. It used to be a Gin palace and there's loads of little cubicles to sit and drink.

I had a couple of hours waiting to kill when I was last there with work waiting for my flight so I popped up and had a look at the murals on Shankill road, as for going out in the evening I found it a bit typical and didnt manage to find any special/decent bars.. saying that the Crown Bar opposite the station was ok but a bit touristy.

Dublin on the other hand is a fantastic place for a night out.
