I just saw an article about 3-D TV being introduced in Japan -- but you need 3-D glasses for it.

I saw 3-D TV in China, at the Quingdao airport luggage carosels. All it showed was ads (mostly for advertising on the 3-D TVs, from what I could tell) but the 3-D effect was stunning. One of the ads had a squirrel throwing acorns at the audience, and it really looked as if they were flying out of the screen and vanishing near the heads of the people standing in front of me. And you didn't need the glasses. It certainly took the tedium out of standing around a luggage carosel.

Personally, I think the set-up in China was better, since you didn't need 3-D glasses.

Has anybody else had experiences with 3-D TV?

No personal experience with 3-D television here, but it will certainly put a diffenent spin on viewing porn, don't you think?

My company actually has one of these currently. We are a high tech company and do a lot of research and development. The thing is AMAZING. And for a spare $50,000 you TOO can have one. Probably not going to be in my house any time soon. No glasses required for this one either. Very cool.

Yeah, I doubt that they'll be in the home market any time soon. What sort of applications are they thinking of, other than keeping people amused at luggage carosels?
