The poster headlines "If you drink like a man , you might end up looking like one"
Apart from a stinking hangover, it warns women they will also be more prone to wrinkles, bad skin, hair loss and weight gain if they knock back too much booze.
The campaign, devised by the Drug and Alcohol Service for London, comes as a survey shows that many women would reconsider their drinking habits in order to preserve their looks.
Are they implying that all blokes look like Rab C Nesbitt ?
Would you give up the booze to preserve your looks ?

Yes. No alcohol for 3 months maybe 4 so far. And no smoking for 6 weeks. (maybe seven, i cant remember)
I feel better, healthier. I look better, sexier, prettier, more gorgeous than ever!  Skin looks much much better and brighter.
Do you really care whether its a 'propaganda' or not.. ? If its good for you then you should try it. Give it a go. Men or women.
I have seen so many chubby female monsters who're drink like men. Bleuuuuurgh! Scary. Horrible. Disgusting.
(Why is it always the chubby female monsters who are the ones that behaving stoopid, they behaving like a bunch of a stag party once drunk?)

Yeah, I probably would. Even though I enjoy drinking once a week, it's not THAT important to me anymore. I used to like getting drunk a lot, now I don't even like getting drunk more than once a week, and when I do drink I prefer getting quite drunk instead of falling over drunk. | |

FF that is one of the most sizeist things I ahve ever heard. I am 'chubby' as you put it and I certainly dont drink like a man or fall about drunk and behave stupidly as you put it . Are you trying to say that it is only 'chubby' women who act like this as I think you will find it is normally younger girls and most of the ones that I see like that are actually pretty thin so leave us 'chubbies' out of it if you dont mind. Its great that you are so nice and thin but we are not all like that and there is no need to have a go at bigger people on here. | |

Posted: 6/23/2008 10:20:09 AM | It is true, I am often told I look a lot younger than my age and I do have a far better complexion than most of my friends who either drink regularly or smoke ....
Smokers develop wrinkles around their mouths due to the puckering action when they are holding a cigarette or taking a drag and they also have a lot more ' laughter' lines from squinting through the smoke ... Not certain what it is exactly that causes wrinkles from heavy alcohol consumption ???
Also as an aside, not alcohol but smoke related.... You tend to find plumper ladies look younger because they have plenty of padding on their faces... The skinnier women suffer more, smoking reduces your appetite, so on average they tend to be lighter, so they are more wrinkled ... Why do you think women spend thousands of pounds ever year having plumpers injected into their faces? | |

I drink like a man....if the man in question enjoys the occasional white wine and soda when out and about with his pinky in the air then I must 'look' like a man. Maybe.
I 'drink' like a man if the said man enjoys occasionally just slobbing out at weekends over a meal, a barbeque etc. with a few/lots drinks, pals etc..I must look like a man.
Everything in moderation, I'm saving up for the final operation though..TGFT, I'm finally out of the forum ladyboy/man/woman cupboard!! Just an everyday female though...
FF, are you spying on me or what?
Is the current advertisement campaign in London not aimed at trying to put off the 'New Geezer Girls' from hammering the alcohol? The sort of girls/ladies et al you see being sick in gutters etc. when driving through some towns or cities? A bit of a sexist campaign though really!

In a bus station in Sri Lanka and read a sign ' Smoking causes impotence', a loud screech inside my head and that was me done. Haven't smoked since. | |

Posted: 6/23/2008 11:11:31 AM | alcohol is very dehydrating which therefore causes wrinkles.. it also destroys the vitamin c absorbtion which is essential for healthy skin and skin elasticity...
however although both alchohol and smoking can and will deteriorate the skin, genetics plays a much greater part in the appearance of your skin...
so basically if you drink smoke and dont take care of your skin, you will possibly look a little older than you would if you didnt do either .. but genetically good skin will stand this damage... | |

I have to agree with FF, only had 1 night out drinking since Christmas, no ciggys for over 3 months now and feel healthier, skin does feel and look a lot better , but as for the sexier, prettier and more gorgeous bit, well may some things are past saving. | |

im healthier.........so yes i do agree somethings you just have to give up ,in order to become a more healthier and happier person......
of course for some people, looking great ,and feeling fantastic ,dosent make up for being a rude, pretentious , arrogant nasty bit of work!!

This is due to the estrogenic properties of alcohol, which promotes fat storage around the stomach, thighs, pecs (man boobs anyone?) and ass.
