I know this is a weird question, but are there words that you hate hearing and saying?I dont mean like` its over` or ` its not you,its me...`I mean like single words that make you cringe when you hear them.Ill give some examples of mine.( theres lots too)

Mischief verymad:
Sassy verymad: verymad: verymad:
Toastie verymad: verymad: verymad:

Typically i cant think of the others but will add them as i remember them.Obviously curse and swears are a pain but just ignore those and focus on normal words that are irritating for no known reason. Im curious to see whats out there.:Oh and also if you want put in your mad hate rating like i have.

IRREGARDLESS

huh? Both the IR and the LESS negate the REGARD. That leaves only the REGARD, which I'm pretty sure is the opposite of what people intend to say!

What the hell does 'For all intensive purposes' mean?
When people use this phrase, I assume the mean 'For all intent and purpose'.

Some words I dislike hearing:

HATE - such a strong word.... personally, I don't like to use it.
STUPID - again... much too strong a word, IMO.

What really gets me going is mispronunciation of some words just due to pure ignorance. Such as:

- supposeBly...... it's SUPPOSEDLY..... there is no "B" in the word!
- medium (the centre strip in a divided highway).... it's MEDIAN!

Like you, OP.... I'm sure there are a few more, but I am unable to think of them at this moment.

I think I'll be my sassy self and run off to get into some mischief..... then again, maybe not, as it's rather toasty outside today! Sorry... couldn't resist!!

I work in a diverse work place. I work in a place of business but there are a few people that substitute the word "does" for do...and the work "asked" is axed.

She do ....he do........I axed him..?

I didnt go to college to work with people who feel the need to torch the english language.

Should. Should have. All. Never. Always.

Those ^ and one word I've grown to (really) dislike since joining POF is the word shallow. Ugh.

Not only is over used in my opinion, but I find it's hardly ever used in the proper context.

Anyway <--- one of my favorite and over used word by the way....anyway I'm sure there are more words I hate ( and I do try my very best to limit my use of the word hate also) but that's all I can come up with for now.

Amen to the person who said anything that comes out of Bushboy's mouth. ICK!!

What about words you like the sound of? I am crazy about words like bucket, Nantucket, Josh Becket, ticket, Teaticket, and the like. I wonder if this has anything to do with personality? Another friend likes words that begin with the letter Q.

Words I don't like: "You know" added at the end of every sentence in a conversation.

Racist words are also despicable and I hate those with a passion. You know what those are, they don't need to be printed here.

Foul language on talk shows. ICK!!

Yes, but I am not about to use them, since I hate them. I won't even say what words they sort of sound like. I hate them that much.

There's a couple of words that make me cringe... they're so incredibly vulgar that I despise hearing them and absolutely refuse to utter them...

It makes me cringe when people misuse the reflexive pronoun "myself" trying to sound more sophisticated, and just sounding like an idiot. Also when people use "is" when referring to plural objects.

Not really. Words are just words. There are some phrases that I really dislike but you were asking for words.

I really don't like when people can't speak right. Words like dis or dat for this or that, or we be/I be/you be instead of I am, you are, and we are, Teef for teeth, axed for asked, etc. But I really don't hate the words. I find it rather funny that people are so ignorant that they speak like that.

Another word I find humorous in a wierd way is "twice-t" pronounced like "twiste", for saying that you did something twice but you end the word "twice" with a 't' sound. Like, "I called you yesterday, twice-t"

But all in all, words don't bother me. I think every word out there has a proper time and place for it to be used no matter how offensive some people may find it.

i cant think of any particular words i dislike... more so the context in wich certain words are used.
Example:
"Im the victem" when they just want sympathy...
"I Need "
and the way people get angry and ask questions but when you go to answer they but in to try to keep going with thier argument in the hope by the time they run out of breath you will have forgotten your answer, because they realise how stupid thier question realy was...

Or!
"Know-what-i-mean?" said every 3rd word in every sentance.

Schedule, Shedule.... School.. Shool?
Toe-may-toe, Toe-Mah-toe, Poe-tay-toe, poe-tah-toe... wait a sec... >_<

Most swear words...unless I am using it in an emergency but don't like to hear them.

"Bad luck" I hate the most...................I wish people would use better luck next time rather than "bad luck"

B1tch specially if a man uses it I always think of a man who uses it as a "shemale" such an unmanly word to hear from a man.

I don't, what else...that will do for now.

Like someone else said - "for s h i t s and giggles" God, I hate that one!!! I don't know why but it might have to do with my co-worker saying it a lot who I don't much care for...

I hate swear words (also a prominent feature of my co-worker) Except for the one above which comes in very handy when I hurt myself.

Anything overused really..especially "hate" "always" "never" "can't" "every", anything that can be used to exaggerate. I find exaggerating in general very annoying. I personally think the "c" word is HILARIOUS!

"asked" is axed.

And were they 'pacific' (instead of specific)?
Do they 'wrench' the dishes/their hair (instead of rinse)?
If one person tends to use a word or phrase quite often that gets on my nerves too.
