| The best concert you ever attended. [Closed/see link] Posted: 6/7/2005 3:39:00 PM | Mine is an easy one.
I saw the Rolling Thunder Review in Quebec City in 1975, the ticket price was a joke ( I think it was 10 dollars or so , I still have my stub somewhere)
I had tickets in the third row, center.
Seeing Dylan, Baez, and the magical rag tag gang of musicians having a blast playing to a small crowd was stunning.
It was the perfect mix of rock and roll, and folk, and they rocked out the house from the opening note. Dylan in white face, just totally driven by the music.
The second set opened with Dylan and Baez on acoustics together, and was great to see. Mick Ronson was incredible all night, and showed why Bowie had picked him. Roger McGuinn even showed up, and did " Chestnut Mare" .
I saw it all from about 40 feet away, and will remember it until my last breath.

Also saw BB King in a small venue of roughly 1200 people. 8th row, dead centre. Could see the sweat on the man's brow. That was a great show.

| The best concert you ever attended. Posted: 6/7/2005 5:32:23 PM | There have been so many but the one that still stands out is in '85... I flew back down to SF to see GTR. The band was formed by Steve Hackett and Steve Howe. First sets were acoustic, first one Steve playing his solo works and then the other Steve. Then the two of them came out and played together. After a short intermission, the entire band came out and did GTR, Yes and early Genesis tunes. Quite a treat to see 2 of the best guitarists to come out of the 70's progressive era on one stage. | |

| The best concert you ever attended. Posted: 6/8/2005 8:20:34 AM | | Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour - September '88 (I think) in Toronto. The speaker columns were over 2 storeys high and the sound....it was like you were *inside* the music. The most incredible live performance I've ever seen. | |

| The best concert you ever attended. Posted: 6/9/2005 7:46:41 AM | | I also saw George Thorogood and the Destroyers in the early Eighties - both times in very small clubs. He blew the doors off both places, and you just KNEW this guy was going to be a star even then. | |

| The best concert you ever attended. Posted: 6/9/2005 11:22:26 PM | | Iron Maiden at the Orpheum in Boston. There was no A/C, it was a hot summer (it must have been 90 degrees (that's 32 degrees for my Canadian friends)), I had drunk people behind me, and Bruce****nson's mic was too far back in the mix. Despite all this it was the best concert ever. Their playing was spot on, they did all their best songs, and I've never seen a crowd so into a band before. | |

My absolute fav was the Grateful Dead, Pittsburgh Civic Center, 88.

Just a bar blues band that had incredible energy. Knocked me for a loop and made me realize that small shows weere so much more fun than big ones.

| The best concert you ever attended. Posted: 6/12/2005 1:18:06 AM | Radiohead - UBC Thunderbird Stadium Aug. 30th/03 Vancouver, BC, Canada
There was a moment during the show...It was a gorgeous night, outdoor stadium, the sun was setting, Radiohead was playing one of their mellow tunes (I think it was Sail to the Moon) when a flock of canadian geese flew overhead and the whole crowd let out a big cheer. Perfect moment from an amazing show.
