Thank you to everyone who came and made the afternoon an enjoyable one.
To all the newbies who braved coming along to their first event  to you all.
Hope you all enjoyed the afternoon.

The reason being I do have an inflatable one but despite me searching for it yesterday could not find it..Because of other commitments yesterday I never had time to get to a card shop and get a helium one..
So apologies to one and all.
I would like to say huge thanks to LadyLoul and Treacle for being great co hosts..
Specoid...Wow is there no end to your talents?
Geone..Sorry you missed us but we were there behind the boating lake....One member kindly kept going round the park asking strange people "are you from POF"

Didnt we have a great day!! Thanks to all 60 odd of you that turned up and also to all those who took part in the Rounders match (sorry the ball got broke Warren!) John's fault of course
Anyway, Im in discussions with Misty about setting up another in the not too distant future, i would like one perhaps on the 20th July, how does that sound?? 3 weeks and still summer time, hopefully!
So thanks again to you all, shame on the ones that didnt bother to show! you could have taken your name off the sign up page, cheers for that.
Sorry about the balloon, not many places to get one on the A21/M25 back from Hastings! Still most people found us ok , not too difficult to spot a group of 60 loonies is it

What a brilliant day we had and it didn't finish there once the picnic was over as we adjourned to the pub and had a fab time.
Looking forward to the next one and this time will park nearer the boating lake.

It was so nice seeing everyone, i must give a shout to Kate, i must say i very much enjoyed you company on the train from London bridge...
JustAndy i'm so glad you came i really enjoyed chatting to you and hope to see you again real soon, Andy try CORKS WINEBAR EVENT on 26 july, i'm sure you'll enjoy that also..

Already signed up for Corks (ummm...beer) and the Picnic (ummm...Warren's tarts!) on the 20th - hope to see you all there, and meet a few more of you this time.
(I see Chris has put a picture of that stunning looking bush-hat wearing adonis guy on his profile, clearly an attempt to catch more fish - or maybe scare some of them off )

I did show, but I could not see the fish balloon anywhere so I dithered and lost my bottle. If I had seen the fish balloon on arrival, maybe I would have been able to come over straight away before I thought about it too much, although I did not anticipate how hard it would be to walk towards a large group of people that I did not know even after I was 99.9% sure I had found the right group.
I know someone else who did not find the fish balloon and went home again. Later I overheard two women talking about how they had not found their party, and I suspect they were also PoF members as they mentioned a balloon. Peerhaps the other people who "didn't bother to show" were in the same boat. | |

Posted: 7/5/2008 11:11:09 AM | Can i just point out that we did mention on the post the morning of the picnic that were we UNABLE to get a fish balloon on Sunday morning! no where to buy one on the A21/M25 on the way back from Hastings, very, very sorry about that but really you could not have missed our group as there were over 60 people, the biggest "group" of people in Greenwich Park that day.
as Hosts we can only arrange and organise the event, but it is down to you members to actually take the next step! we really are just friendly people and hope that if you didnt make it to the last one that you will try again on the 20th | |
