WOW, how expensive is your health care. I'm staggered. Where has all that cost come from?. You should come over here if you need treatment. Get yourself a $300 plane ticket and book yourselves into a NHS hospital. Its free at the point of use to everyone. You will save yourselves a fortune. | |

I think all the Illegals need to be sent to Crawford,Texas to be boarded and taken care of on Bush's ranch. Its surely big enough for 1,000 or so. Posted: 6/30/2008 1:47:12 PM | That hospital should be compensated for the care it rendered, but at the same time my guess is that care could have been provided outside the hospital and should have ....that is an extraordinary length of time to be hospitalized, two years? Ive never heard of such a thing.
Many things are wrong with this picture, but the immigrant.....well, would if he were aMcDonald's employee or an uninsured farm worker who is legal?
The immigrant didn't do anything wrong, they just got sick. The problem is that sick, illegal immigrants are a big hole in our health financing system........we tell hospitals to take care of them, but we don't want programs to pay them. | |

Lets send the bill for taking care of these illegals to there country of origin. And if they won’t pay we stop giving them foreign aid (which we shouldn’t be giving away like candy anyway) or how about tacking it on to there trade goods with “illegal care” tariffs.
Something anything, just find some way to get the money back! I’m sick of America’s being expected to serve up a free lunch to anyone who feels like sneaking in.
How about a Federal Office of Illegal Cost Reimbursement. Have the states send the bill for all the costs of illegals heath care and criminal costs for jailing them and such to one federal government office, that office pays the state back the cost then they get to play bill collector with the governments of the countries these people came from.
It would be interesting to see all the cost in one place. That would be one heck of an interesting number to watch flying up. | |

some claim we need illegals to do jobs americans won't do. i like to reference the grapes of wrath to demonstrate that blacks and whites did agricultural work only a century ago and they would again if a thrid world country didn't move in to not only depress the wages but also made it "their" arena. just like when u see a mexican restaurant, many times you know anyone but a mexican would be turned down for employment despite the DFEH authority over such matters that unfairly targets companies with a large percentage of whites.
out of the 2 million agricultural workers in the US (i got the stats), 50% are undocumented (cough cough, i mean ILLEGAL, as in THEY BROKE THE LAW AND ARE ACTIVE FELONS, but we need to sugarcoat their status). we can make up this with high school and colege kids on summer break as well as some adult citizens - produce prices would go a bit higher but would more than be offset by the lower housing costs (would hurt the rich and all those who already paid too much for homes) that would be great overall for the country in reducing the cost of living. | |

The population growth is greatest in third world countries where there are the fewest jobs, emigrating to western economies where there is the best chance of finding work.

Incredible how high the bills go - thats another story ! And cannot be right - how much does a nurse get paid ??
We do have same problems in UK, except that our immigration service does tend to try deporting them - the onus is not on the hospitals, so less of a conflict that way.
However, we get non-illegal Europeans invading the system too... | |

Maybe we could get Mexico to pay in OIL. They are after all one of our bigger oil supporters. So far, they have a great deal, they send there countrymen over here who are poor AND they make us pay premium prices for their oil. (They provide more oil to the USA than the Pursian Gulf)
