Who comes up with this crap? More ways to spread disease and make sex horrible for women? Does this only happen in Africa or are there people in the West who enjoy this?

Dry sex is a sexual practice of minimizing vaginal secretions by using intravaginal desiccants, by wiping out the vagina, or by other methods before and during sexual intercourse, thus making the woman's vagina dry and tight. The practice is supposed to generate extra sensation for the man during intercourse but may be painful or uncomfortable for the woman. The practice is common in Sub-Saharan Africa and is of concern as it increases the chances of transmitting sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) including AIDS, due to vaginal tearing.
Furthermore, the practice of dry sex is generally incompatible with the use of condoms (which require lubrication to avoid breakage). It may also result in vaginal inflammation and/or traumatic lesions which in turn may increase the transmission of STDs in other ways. | |

I'll be the first to say that Africa, besides Amsterdam, is probably one of the worse places to begin that risque sex. Not that it's a good idea anyways.
It's always bothered me that some sexual acts usually go against common sense, just for simplistic pleasure. Speaking of simplistic pleasure, Google with Safe Search turned off, a free hand, and a rag does the job just fine.  | |

I have been sore in the past through a long session, I can only imagine what it does to a woman since she is more sensitive.
It is wrong to assume if a woman is dry she doesnt want sex though, anymore than a man not being able to fully rise to the occasion means he isnt. Whats needed is Lube on hand for the woman, stimulation for the man (which to me is cuddling, lol) but most of all a willingness and desire to be patient, loving and understanding.
If you cant get things going, like the Man cant get it up or the Woman doesen't start to create her own moisture once you've used lube, then maybe you should just give it up and try again later.
In a nutshell; Dry sex is hell for both parties unless one is a bit of a Sadist. | |

Still DRY SEX a practice in areas of Africa where AIDS/HIV is extremely prevelent and the most comon method of transmission is heterosexual sex.
Unless a woman told me she wanted to be dry, doubtful in and of itself, I don't feel I could do the deed dry. Lubrication is good, sometimes sloppy but good. Pain & sex, unless you're into sado-masochism ain't a good thing and that ain't for me either. | |

This is not a new phenomenon in these sub-Saharan cultures, any more than sewing the vagina almost shut to increase tightness. Very much tied to gender roles, and womens' inability to negotiate sex in these cultures.
