Emotions Without Feeling
As the crack of light fills my eyes
I look around, seeing the emptiness
Feeling nothing but cold winds
The emptiness of the room matches my heart
Nothing to love, no one to care for
A burning desire to feel a loving touch
That desire to know that your hand feels my face
That warmth that you give me
That innocent smile you have
When I see you, I feel things I never thought I could
When I hear you, its like the best of songs
My heart skips so many beats, I get scared
I feel so many butterflies in my stomach, I could puke butterfly wings
I fear that you won't like the person I am
I fear that I won't make you happy
My worse fear is that I will get hurt
I will put myself out there for you
And I will be left feeling pain and misery
I will be left open to be hurt
And I don't want to feel that pain because it's too hard to take
But the happiness you give me is incredible
It's a rush that I never want to come down from
And it's such a better feeling when I open my eyes
And that light fills them again
I look around and I see your face
Your hair, your smile, your eyes
Replacing cold winds with warm tingling
Lonliness gone as your love warms and fills my heart. | |
