Ok so we all have little accidents, general mishaps and the likes but sometimes my mishaps defy sanity.

After eating my meal i had to undo my trousers (we have all been there!.)nothing unusual in that untill i stood up,trousers fell halfway down my legs and sent me flying head first into the kitchen units Ouch

Am i the only one who this kind of stuff happens to or are there other genuinely clumsy people ?.

please tell whilst i nurse my wounds.

Oh Kath I could be here all day telling you my accident prone stories. My mum said thats why I went into nursins so I would have access to an A&E dept for at least 8 hrs a day. My most unusual was lifting a heavy patient years ago wth a student nurse she let go, to pull up her tight and me and the pt done a wee tango before he landed on top of me (I was skinner then). I done alot of damage to my back. On going for a scan a few days later dye had to be injected into my arm before going through the scanner for the last few mls of liquid my vein collapapsed and the dye went into my muscle giving me a dead arm. I came home with arm in a sling. The next day while walking downstairs Ilost my footing couldnt use my arm and fell head first into the door handle splitting my head open. Neighbour had to take me back to hospital for 7 stitches in my head. All from a pt falling.

Once at school I bent to tie my shoe and someone threw a medicine ball in the air it hit me on the head - concussion.

While carrying a tray through to the kitchen I caught my foot in a rug and fell head first through a china cabinet - stitches again.

I could go on but I fear I am boring you all now lol .

... I am sooooooo sorry ..... But ...

I am just as clumsy, stupid, daft.... I put a book on a shelf only to knock another one off and the pair of scissors craftily hidden on it. They fell off, point first into my foot....

I stepped over my daughter once and stood on her toy, which went straight through the bottom of my foot... Hospital jobbie that one... Owww...

Son has one of those hanging bars that he screws into the doorframe and hangs off? Whilst warning my sister about it being there, I walked straight into the bloody thing and knocked myself out... Oh the irony ...

Ummm tripped over my dog... Landed in something unspeakable, no not dog poo, but I do believe it was once a living thing....

Stopping now ... Ohh the shame ...

Oh dear Kath. Hope you are OK. Your tale does sound like a scene out of a comedy film though.

My sister is the biggest clutz you could ever meet. She is so clumsy she trips over things all the time, walks into things, she is basically hopeless.

The best of all had to be the other week when she cut her finger on a paint roller. And I mean the fluffy part that you put the paint on to as well

After your ealier message about coming to declutter me I really feel I should enquire about liability cover on my house insurance

The thing is I bet if you wrote down all the things that happened to you in a comedy show they wouldn't want to buy it as they'd say "That doesn't happen. No-one would believe it!"

Don't let the dancer thing fool you. in a studio, when being told what co-ordinated complicated things to do with my body everything is fine (apart from that one incident in my second year when I tore most of the ligaments in my ankle!).

However, let me loose in public and all hell breaks loose.

Popped into the cafe next to work for my lunch, one hand in my pocket. On my second step into the cafe I got my foot caught on the other foot's shoe, straight down onto the tiled floor with no hand to break the fall. The cafe was full of builders having their lunch, oh the shame.

Every single morning without fail I will stub my foot on a paving stone and have a little half run stumble. I save passers by the troible of laughing at me by laughing at myself.

I regularly fight with the wall when I'm asleep, always have bruises somewhere, even gave myself a rather large lump on the head by headbutting the wall once.

If you ever have the misfortune to share a table with me for drinks and or food, grab everything if I get up because I often will knock the table and send everybodies drinks flying.

Granted, I don't have huge injure myself incidents, rather lots of little embarrassing incidents.

I once jumped up onto one of those raised flower beds you get in housing estates... ran over it, went to jump off the other side, missed my footing and fell off shattering a bone in my foot. That was fun......

I fell in 6ft deep ditch a few years ago it looked like just a small depression in some long grass at the time. My ankle was purple the next morning.

Once when I was windsurfing I got blown into some shallow water, I should of stopped straight away but thought I would be ok to sail out of it. It didn't work out quite right the fin hit a rock the board stopped dead in its tracks and I was catapulted at a tangent straight onto another concealed rock just under the surface resulting in a fractured humerous . I can laugh now but it wasn't funny at the time I was going on holiday 2 weeks after

The other week I dropped a two litre full bottle of pepsi on to my foot, and I haven't dared go to the hospital, in case I have broken it, and they want to put it in plaster...

But no, normally I am not clumsy...........on a side note, if any of the above posters are attending any meets and I am there, will you please avoid standing/sitting/coming anywhere near me..................just so I stay safe.... Thank you........xx

I never seem to watch where I'm going as I'm to busy daydreaming or being nosey at the time.
A couple of years ago I was walking along the platform of Woolwich train station to get a train to Kent to see my mum, daydreaming & walked straight into those metal pillars that look like lampposts, nearly knocked myself out! Still got on the train with blood pouring down my face trying to look brave, got to kent & mum whipped me to hospital, fractured eye socket & stitches later

Tripped over the cat just before my b/day in may & twisted my ankle & wrist.

So many burns on my hands from the cooker.

Constantly tripping up slightly raised bits on paths.

& opened kitchen cupboard door to get wine glass out (weekend), forgot, bent down to put something in bin, stood up & smacked the corner of cupboard on my head, christ it still hurts now

I love this thread, so glad you are all just as clumsy, OP have you noticed it seems to be more women

Some years ago, I got really really drunk with a load of good mates - it was a really good night - felt ok the next day - went out see all me mates again the following morning - they all looked really smart some of in uniform standing outside too! Well I wandered in and this bloke in a dress asked if I "take this woman", it threw me a bit - I paused for thought (BBC Radio2) and the bloke in the dress said "Go on loads of your mates have" so I replied "Ok I do" - now I don't think that was clumsy - but I'm piggin sure it was stupid!

(Is it long enough?)

OP do you have to wear a special helmet in bed?

I am clumsy. I tend to walk into walls. I trip over my own feet and if there is anything on the floor I will trip on it no matter how much I try to step over whatever it is.

Ive been really clumsy of late. In the past 3 months Ive had a nasty bike accident and had to have my face stiched and glued up....shame they missed my mouth, the crash was my fault. Ive fell down some footings I was measuring for a mate and scraped up the calf of my right leg leaving a nasty scar and just over a week ago fell over and whacked my hand against a dining chair fracturing it in 2 places.

Think I'll stay in bed for a bit till I heal, dont want any more injuries.

haha mine was under the influence of alcohol on New Years Eve day about 5 years ago! Came home early hours of the morning after partying at a friends after the pubs had closed, got home about 5.30am. Sat on the end of the bed in my bedroom and started to get undressed, don't know how i managed it but i must've fell forward, and ended up ass over t1t wedged between a floor standing fan and a box (looked a bit like i'd been eaten by a clam apparently - according to the partner i was seeing at the time), he looked stunned by it all. I was too busy laughing at myself, and he had to help me up out the wedge i'd got myself into.
Later on that day, as the alcohol wore off i was sick and the pain was immense. So went to hospital as had a huge lump at the bottom of my neck/top of my back. X ray revealed i'd only badly bruised myself luckily.

Erm another time (nearly 2 years ago), no alcohol involved this time, i tripped over a manhole lid and fractured my knee (apparently!), damaged the ligaments and now left with a condition that affects the muscles/cartilage.

There's just too damn many to list......but i am becoming more stable on my feet HONEST!!!!

a few yrs ago I lost a lot of weight but didn't want to buy a lot of new clothes until I reached my goal....I was therefore constantly hitching up my underwear !

One night I went for a drink with a mate after work...as we walked across the car park on a hot summer evening I could feel my knickers slipping down lower and lower....thankfully I was wearing a long summer skirt....a few more steps and they were down around my ankles.....I quickly stepped out of them and flicked them under a near by car with my foot and carried on walking as if nothing had happened. But I did go out the next day and buy new ones that fitted

Oh and - I pulled my trousers up in the loo at Canterbuy Cathedral on Saturday not realising that i had caught the trailing end of the loo roll on the wall behind me.....thankfully my mate spotted it as we walked out before I got too far with 3ft of soft white trailing behind me -

Oh Kath you poor thing........ I hope you didn't do too much damage to the back gate

I feel very left out reading all these posts, I've never broken anything , nor had stitches, the only time I go to the hospital is to take others

I am clumsy in my flip-flops though, I manage to keep tripping up......sounds pathetic compared to all these stories..I know ...I'm out of here

Years ago now, my mum wanted cetral heating fitting, i said i can do that, she was'nt keen, but i convinced her. Went to the librabry, got a book, yes its a doddle.
Had to lift the floorboards in the bedroom to put pipes down, yes it's dead easy this, going to save a fortune. I'm sure you've guessed, walking across the room, next minute i'm hanging through a hole into the lounge.

Limp down stairs to own up, my mums in the back kitchen cooking the tea, ( thats dinner for you people down south ).

What did she say she saw her lounge ?
Well if i leave out the swear words, she did'nt say anything !

Clumsy, stupid? Just funny for every one else!
Without taking the mickey out of true 'praxia's. If a 'label' had existed from the age of 5-46 years old I have 'Clumsypraxia'. Dinnae 'dys' or dis me.

The one that is sticking in my mates' heads is (only because I told them). Is this.

Last summer, lunch break, hard working nurse. I'm in 'mufti' (normal clothes), Rushed in to Tesco's to buy a tin of mackerel fillets. I'm wearing an ankle length summer skirt with an elasticated waistband.

The tins are are on the bottom shelf. As I stood up, I didn't realize that my shoe had caught my skirt from the back. Aye I did. Stepped back. Flashed my granny knickers
One of the biggest laughs.

I'm very clumsy, I blame it on a combination of being left-handed and not having 3d vision.
I have a talent for falling down stairs, I do that quite regularly.

A couple of weeks agoI walked straight into a cupboard door that my daughter had left open. It was right at head height too and due to the layout of the kitchen, it couldn't open any further. I was walking towards the cupboard beyond it, got distracted by something I saw on the floor and whack!!! I still have a bit of a dent on my forehead.

I also am finally learning not to wander about in trousers and bare feet, I keep getting the toes of one foot tangled in the other trouser leg and going flying. I still have a suspicious lump on one knee after a particularly spectacular flight across the living room a couple of months ago.
