Since we have people from many different places on our planet. I was curious what favorite drink people have.

As for myself, my drink of choice is pastis. My favorite pastis is pernod & water.

My second choice is Murphy's Stout, failing that Guinness.

Champagne! In all its forms. I'll even drink cheap Cook's champagne. I like to experiment w/ different champagne c o c k tails too. So far I'm having the most fun w/ this rose syrup I got at the Middle Eastern grocery store and drizzling it down the side of the flute then pouring in the champagne...very girlie and pink.

Also...bellinis! I would welcome a good recipe for those too!

Belini ...I found this recipe on The Food Network website.

This is Emeril's recipe:
Frozen Belini
1 pound frozen peaches, sliced and thawed
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
1 bottle champagne

In saucepan, over medium heat, combine the peaches, sugar, and water. Bring the liquid to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium low and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool. In a blender, puree the mixture until smooth. Add a enough water to thin the puree out into a peach juice. Pour into a shallow dish and freeze until firm. Remove the peach mixture from the freezer and allow to sit out for 10 minutes. Using a large spoon, scrape the mixture back and forth to form a slushy mixture. Fill each flute glass 2/3 of the way with Champagne. Add the slushy peach mixture and serve.

I'll take a gin and soda with fresh lime, in a tall glass with lots of ice.
Cheers!

Guinness is so bitter! I heard it's healthy is that true?

I'll take a Smirnoff anytime. It's my new favourite :)

I like a lot of different beverages...but my most commonly ordered is a Gin & Tonic with lime...or a Dirty Martini...lotsa Queen olives! ;) I am a clear liquor drinker...don't care for many scotch or bourbons, though I love, love, love wines and would kill for a good Port! ;)

Shots....Jaegerbombs, Honey Turkey, or a Chocolate Cake!

..OK..I'm sorta famous at my local "everybody knows my name place" for drinking Red Dog. But when you get right down to it..I like to check out any number of different beers...going to a micro-brewery and ordering a sampler with 7 or 8 types is a lot of fun. Especially if you have a designated driver...LOL

Budweiser...

Great Recipe to get A lot of People Drunk:
Makes two gallons

1/5 of Everclear
2 cans of pineapple juice
2 2 liter of Mountain Dew ( or other clear, caffeinated soda)
2 packs of red koolaid ( I prefer black cherry or tropical punch
2 empty gallon milk jugs

Pour 1/2 of Everclear, 1 can of pineapple juice and one Koolaid pack into gallon jug. Shake well. Add 2 liter of pop... get ready to have some fun...

It's been called Jungle Juice or Red Eyed Monster, lol

I'm having a whiskey coffee in between keystrokes any yes BeenThere it is Jim Beam.

Guinness is so bitter! I heard it's healthy is that true?

I don't think it's any more or less healthy than another beer just brewed with a darker variety of malted barley. One thing I know from my home brew days is that stout is by far the most easiest and resilient beers to make. Sure don't know how they command those high prices.
My favorite beer is an open one.

The cool thing is, you really cannot taste the alcohol. Two gallons will get a lot of people (7-10) pretty silly in no time flat. I haven't made any since my highschool days, but you never know when you are going to need a recipe like that... try it, it's yummalicious.

We've covered mojitos, beer and margaritas...and for a belini, you can just mix peach nectar w/ champagne. That would be my "lazy girl" version of a belini.

My sister makes this drink about once per year. She calls them pineapple yummies. I call them evil in a glass. The inspiration came from a steakhouse in Chicago that makes these (Sullivan's? I'd give credit where credit was due if I could remember - and my lapse is a result of too much time passed, not too much alcohol imbibed).

Cut up one pineapple. Put it in a big jar. Pour in a bottle of good vodka. Let it sit for about a month. When it's ready, remove the pineapple. Shake the vodka with ice to cool. Strain and serve.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeevil!

There was a board game called 'Pass Out' meant to be played with beer. You roll the dice, land on a square take a chug go around the board 4 or 5 times and the first one who passes out looses.
In my younger days a few of my friends had the brilliant idea of playing the game with Everclear. None of us has any recollection after the first 2 squares.
We would use 3 bottles in a cooler full of wine coolers however they were 3 airplane size bottles.

I play a card game with friends called FUBAR and we had jello shots with everclear one night. omg. we limited to giving one person 1 shot through the entire night as the game calls for alot of drinking... none of us remember much of that evening but debauchery at it's finest.

Ever try Captain Morgan's spiced rum with creme soda? It's a total vanilla experience...very tasty! I have never seen it at a bar.

Now that Coca-Cola has Vanilla Coke, that is also great with rum!
