Women who use the 'I got drunk' excuse.?
Posted: 7/3/2008 5:58:42 AM
From todays Daily Mail article about women and casual sex...

'One guy, who was meant to be a close friend, took advantage of me when I was really drunk. We ended up having sex, and in the morning I was mortified.'

Like she didn't realise what he was up to when she started drinking with him.?
I've heard this a couple of times from women I know "oh he got me drunk and then took advantage"..

Is it just a load of BS.?
or are there women in their 30's who are really that naive.?

It's all BS, after all, according to every woman i've ever met, 'guys are only after one thing' So they should know if there going to get drunk with a male friend, that there's a chance he might try it on, it's not our fault your drunk

I am sure that SOME women are that naive as i am CERTAIN that there are an equal amount of men who would use that fact to their full advantage.

a few issues on this subject.

to be so drunk as to be insensible and someone takes advantage is one thing, but to just get pissed, have sex and then regret it in the morning is something else.

I wouldn't say naive. I would just say the spectre of land of do as you please has reared its ugly head and like pandors box, its now out there and difficult to jam the lid back on the box. its much easier to scream rape or 'oh I was drunk, he took advantage' than take responsiblitiy for your own actions.

now before I get castrated and thrown to the wolves on this. I'm not saying all women do this but I see this a lot in my work capacity where someone just acts on the moment and then rather than take responsiblity for themselves, blame the other person.

totally agree with Kath 111

But have to say most women know what might happen, if your liable to shag someone you shouldnt when your drunk then you shouldnt drink full stop

I think that all drink does is to numb your senses, it doesn't actaully stop you from saying no, unless you have passed out.......... I used to drink a helluva lot to the extent where I would be vomitting it back up , and in all that time I never lost the ability to say no, or to call a cab.
So my guess is yes it's BS, but I also think there are many men that would take advantage of someone in that state

One woman I know did this exact thing and then she says " HE must have spiked my drink"..

Not the fact that she was drinking really heavily and the guy was an arsehole to begin with, its always someone elses fault.

Easy excuse when struggling with regret.

Though both sexes should learn some restraint and respect for themselves and each other.

EDIT msg 10 i am sure there is an alarming amount of false incidents regarding spiked drinks and surely this must make it harder to deal with the genuine cases?.

I was waiting for someone else to say this. In my work capacity this happens a lot.

'oh officer officer, I feel awful. someone must have spiked my drink'

once we actually get a coherent story from the complainant it turns out they've drank a staggering amount of alcohol and more than likely given themselves alcohol poisoning. it doesn't seem to enter their heads that they are ill purely because they drank too much, no not at all. it MUST have been spiked mustn't it?

yes, of course love, you keep thinking that.

Different people , different scenarios , maybe she trusted him as a "mate" not to take advantage and he misread it while he was pizzed too??

As on these sites, when it states to meet your date in a public place it is for my safety as well as hers !! She could be some looney tune that enjoys the drama of screaming rape !!

if a man/woman has sex with a man/woman and the person is not able to say yes or no then that is wrong, but if you sleep with someone and then regret it then its noones falt other than yr own and you have to take responsability for yr own acctions.drunk or not you dont loss the abilety to say NO.

Well..

My thought on this is......... You are NEVER to drunk to say no!!!

I go out most Sat nights with my mates and most of the time have way to much to drink, but a few saturdays ago, i was dancing with this man... and it was fun at first, then i felt his hand on my bum, i turned round and said "Oi, Im drunk.. not Fcuking stupid"

If you are so drunk that all your inhibitions have gone, you should stop drinking and go home.

she only met him that night, but I knew him slightly before and from the start I just got an 'off' feeling about the guy, big mouthy american.

I dunno but I think its just so feeble to use drink as an excuse like this for having no self control and then to end up just being used and crying is worse.

Why do people get themselves in this situation? I have been known to drink- even to excess....BUT I would NEVER get sht-faced with someone unless I really really trusted them. Trust them to get me home safely, and not take advantage.

I have been known to give my bank card to someone to get cash when on a sess...that is some sort of trust....but I have never woken up and regretted my bed-fellow.
Have a few drinks, stay in control. There is nothing attractive about throwing up, falling down or generally making an utterarse of your self.

People should learn to control the amount they drink!

If you drink so much that you don't know where you are or what you did last night, waking up and finding out you spread your legs is your own fault! There's nothing wrong with drinking but if you're going to get smashed because you think it's fun then you should be man or woman enough to live with ALL the consiquences!

If you're aware of how much you've had to drink and are responsible you wont end up in a situation like that! Of course there are exceptions as some people do get taken advantage of but like most things, if you're smart about what you're doing you'll be fine.

Well not been a ten pinter I guess I will have to bow to your knowledge on this issue. I pray on the weak n stupid, not the pished - I like to confuse burds knickers off rather than waste money on buying plonko chat cheapio to get me wicked way!

I do like a pint though n it tastes better when someone else buys it - does that mean I'm an easy lay?

I'm glad lillian mentioned that it's not only women who get taken advantage of. I cant stand when a drunk woman tries to hit on me and can hardly stand on her own two feet. They end up all over you thinking they're doing a great job looking "sexy".... a little note to women who do it.. you look like shit and I aint taking you home!

I think so. If you get so off ya rocker, you can't remember, anything. You need to stop drinking, or know your limits and stick to it.

But on the other hand, i think there's a very fine line here. If said sexual act was not consensual, isn't that called rape..?

Very fine line as women regretting drunkern sex and the word rape dont mix too well.

But thats a whole new topic that im sure has been done many a times.

There is a difference to drunkern mistakes and rape and in my opinion the two often get mixed up.

I think if it was rape the female in the article would be raging as opposed to slightly abashed. There's no link to the article and I don't have time to find it so I am just speculating.

If you're going to wake up disgusted with yourself for what you've done the night before, it's time to evaluate your drinking habits (not aimed at you btw twinklepops!)

Totally agree. But there's also a difference between, being a bit pizzed and incoherent, and passed out and taken advantage of.

well if she had only known him slightly before and had only met up with him that night for the first time then sorry he's hardly what i would call a mate!!!!!!!!! more of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend who's face i knew maybe

i have loads of male friends who i would trust totally going out with and if i got pished and they were sober then that would be taking advantage of me and i would have his balls for earrings and willy for a necklace but if we were both pished then would hope we could chalk it down to experience and a whoops a dazy and hope that it wouldn't affect the friendship

and why would him being a big mouthy American make him sleep with her????
