Posted: 7/3/2008 1:26:59 PM | With Justice Scalia's RAZOR sharp majority opinion in the recent Heller case, one would think that the anti gunners would at least start to apply some common sense.
However Mayor Fenty in D.C. feels compelled to get himself in trouble and has defied the US Supreme court. Scalia stated that any weapon in common usage cannot be banned, and Fenty has now seen fit to disallow the registration of semiautomatic handguns. 2.3 of all hand guns in the country are semi autos.
Looks to me like he's wanting to be slapped with a content charge shortly after the D.C. circuit court issues it's injunction in a short time.
The important part of Scalia's ruling is that he define the second as an INDIVIDUAL right for Americans to keep and bear arms INDEPENDANT of militia service. | |

It's the whole court's decision, which means if ANY person decides to sue Mayor Fenty, it'll get heard in the Supreme Court witha quickness, and Mayor Fenty will be bent over and Not In The Fun Way! | |

There are over a half a dozen threads dedicated to these issues...pick the most recent and add this issue to restart the most recent of these threads on the Second Amendment that is relevant to the OP.
