| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 8:41:44 AM | My ex says every guy, whether he's married or in a relationship, given the opportunity to have sex with another woman will definately go for it. He says every man has the need to to spread his seed and that its got nothing to do with us women personally, it just is wat it is. He says I just dont "get it" he says it doesnt matter how beautiful ur wife or girlfiriend is, it's nothing personal, guys are dogs, its that simple. An example he pointed out was Shanai Twain.
So my question to guys, how true is this?

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 8:53:27 AM | No it is not. Men cannot have sex alone thus if every man was a dog then by corellation every woman would have to be a dog as well. I don't think I'm seeing that many women loose with their lovin'

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 9:01:24 AM | My ex said that too...but as it pertains to me, I think he's just trying to keep me from going near any men for the rest of my life, and he figures that telling me this will scare me into terminal reclusiveness - I gotta give him credit for trying, but it's not gonna happen.
In conversation, any guy I bring up in the course of my day that I ask him about, his basic answer is that that guy was trying to get into my pants. Just silliness and obvious projection. I don't think he really believes it generally.

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 9:07:34 AM | Sorry but ... what a pile of rubbish. Men, like women, and like every human being on this planet are individuals.
If ALL men and ALL women were this way or that way, we would have figured each other out a long time ago, and both Dr. Phil and Oprah would be out of a job!

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 9:14:50 AM | First, let me wade in with the idea that just because we possess the same genitalia doesn't mean we all think alike (all jokes aside). Some men will without a doubt we go for a sexual encounter if the potential partner can fog a mirror. Others are much more selective and like the idea of emotional commitment -- these men will not cheat.
And finally, thank you for associating men with dogs. Dogs are loyal, ensure you always have someone to eat with, keep you company and will not try to f@< |< you every time you give him a nice back rub.
And, unlike digs, most of us won't poop in the park (you get my drift).

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 9:30:55 AM | I'm personally not attacking dogs, I'm merely quoting my ex.
Please understand I know women cheat on their husbands /boyfriends too, this is not a gender attack from me personally.

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 9:39:48 AM | The quick answer is no, but it's way more complex then that.
Ugly men like ugly women are way more likely to be true simply because of fewer opportunities. When I say ugly woman, I mean head to toe. If she has great body parts, that's enough to gain LOTS of male attention. So, an attractive man is way more likely to cheat. I'd guess the same of attractive women, but that's for the "ask a girl" side to answer.
A good looking man gets way more opportunities as does a rich man. Men in love don't fool around, so your task is to figure out if he's in love or the honeymoon is long over. Once it's over...it's over...married or not.
|
| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 9:45:43 AM | | No not all guys are dogs although we like "doggy style" that does not make us dogs by far. It sounds like your ex is the real dog and trying to put down all men for his own short comings. | |

guys are dogs, its that simple. LOL... nothing is ever that simple... I know men AND women who will cheat at every opportunity...
I can buy into the "genetic need" arguement only so far (it's a handy excuse)... but most of it's because of THAT individual's personality...
I don't care much for the dog analogy either... Old Tom cats like me look down on those silly, foolish creatures with amusement...

This reminds me of a little bit of satire that Mark Twain wrote called "The Lowest Animal."
Back to the question: You'll probably find a variety of answers on this one. Would guys jump at the first opportunity to have sex that came along? Some would, some wouldn't. You'd probably get around the same results if you asked how many guys would want a free snickers bar. Some would go for it immediately, some would consider the ramifications to their waistline or dental health and turn you down, some would be wary and wonder if there is "a catch," (no such thing as a free lunch, right?) and some probably just don't like chocolate. Or peanuts. Or nougat (whatever the hell that is).

Your ex is an idiot, and doesn't speak for ME, thats for sure. I am NOT a dog, and have no desire to "spread my seed" as you put it. Its like saying ALL women are gold diggers. Although some women are, not ALL are.

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 11:06:06 AM | That's quite the attempt at rationalising by your ex. I truly hope you didn't swallow that line of BS he tried to feed you.
There are some men, just as there are some women, who will keep copulating with everyone they can, as long as they can, and then some. It is an individual thing, not a general behavior shared by all individuals.
Monogamy is something that many men practice and truly believe in. Your ex trying to generalise all men to say this is nothing more than an attempt to advance his own agenda.

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 11:08:21 AM | Nah, i'm more like a puppie, sure i nibble sometimes but it will always come down to a person's loyalty. Either their satisfied with what they have and aren't curious, or vise versa, harsh... but true. Better not to dwell and just move on. Jon | |

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 11:13:59 AM | ALL guys are like dogs??
Well i frequently smell other guys bums, try to hump them to prove my dominance over them. If i see a hydrant i HAVE to pee on it.. And i have a guy that follows me around and cleans up when i poop in public parks. . . .
Your ex is totally wrong.. A guy can be with a woman and appreciate someone elses looks.. Just like woman do.. When you were married you never saw another guy as good looking?? its human nature.. Doesnt mean you were going to sleep with the next good looking guy that walked by you...
|
| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 11:18:46 AM | Well this "ask a guy" forum should be renamed "bash a guy"
WE ARE NOT DOGS. Not every, all, the entire male species are going to cheat on the s/o because we are men.
There that's a TRUE generalization
Best of luck to everyone

Posted: 7/4/2008 11:45:13 AM | My ex says every guy, whether he's married or in a relationship, given the opportunity to have sex with another woman will definately go for it. I call Bullshit. Listen, there is a difference between spreading seed and having a relationship. Spreading seed is a lower level brain function - meaning it's primal. A relationship is a higher level brain function - which means we are able to control our base emotions.
According to your guy, we're all a bunch of monkeys - What a load of crock!

My ex says every guy,
We only understand the world through our own experience of the world. Therefore it is safe to assume that whenever someone makes a statement such as that, they are really refering to themselves.
And no, it is not true. Call me a gentleman or a fool. But I don't have sex with a woman just because I have the opportunity. Of course, it could just be a matter of attraction.
But I prefer monogamy. Why be in a relationship if you are going to go elsewhere?

Actually, to be perfectly honest, i think he DOES believe that.
Which is really more pathetic, if you really think about it.

| My ex says ALL guys are dogs, is this true? Posted: 7/4/2008 1:08:04 PM | No, it's not true that any man will have sex with any woman who gives him the opportunity. Almost all men need at least a minimum of attraction to a woman to even desire sex with any particular woman. You girls are the same way from the other side. Don't tell me you wont gladly hop in bed with a man you think is more desirable than who you're with now. I've seen it too many times.
The dog analogy is pretty accurate overall though. We men are a lot like dogs. If you feed us, have sex with us, and pet us, we'll stick around.
