I don't have oxygen or I would not be asking I got asthma and a nebulazier with plenty of medication..There's a major fire burning within 10 miles from here alot of ashes big ashes..I'm not in distress I'd like to get some tips in case that happens though to me or any of my neighbors..Of course if it gets real bad I'll call 911 or have someone take me in..But if I don't have to go I rather not..Thank You in advance.

try this . . .take a standard dust mask. put three or four cotton balls in it, followed by a 4x4 sterile cotton dressing pad. You might have to cut the pad in half. You might want to experiment dampening the cotton balls, but not outright wet. this should help with soot but not the chemical odor.

Hi Byrd,

http://www.lungusa.org/ and click under wildfires- (variety of resources) and the (press release)

http://www.lung.ca/media-medias/news-nouvelles_e.php?id=62

http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/asthma.html

Hope there is something in one of these sites that is helpful to you. Even tho' I quit smoking almost 2 years ago, my asthma yet gives me gaggin' days. Where I live, the smoggy air gets trapped in a valley and is nasty in the summer. My usual inhaler seems inefficient lately so I am going to try one I used to use a few years ago. I also find that exercise and watching what I eat have helped. There is a liquid herbal product called Strauss EZ Breathe. I have never tried it. Maybe someone reading who has tried or knows more about it could comment about the product. Praying for rain in Santa Barbara!!!
