| I heard 2 women talking about impotent men Posted: 7/5/2008 8:45:42 AM | | I was at a 4th of July party last night and over heard 2 women talking about the incredibly high rate of impotence among men over 45! Is this true? They claimed 75% had sever trouble and half were goners. This is news to me. I know there are products like Viagra out there but is the problem as sever as they claimed? | |

| I heard 2 women talking about impotent men Posted: 7/5/2008 9:29:49 AM | Wow, it is true life does decline after 40.
Seriously, the best defense in this case is education for not only the males but ladies aswell. There are many different products out there for ED.
Now those two ladies sounded like they had a grip on the subject matter.

| I heard 2 women talking about impotent men Posted: 7/5/2008 12:31:12 PM | From women I have spoken, many of them married, this is a much more common problem than one would think (or men want to admit) . Why else would the airwaves be so saturated with commercials for products to help Ed?
Maybe that is the reason why BOB has become so popular..

| I heard 2 women talking about impotent men Posted: 7/5/2008 1:26:53 PM | The Massachusetts Male Aging Study surveyed 1709 men aged 40–70 years in the greater Boston area between 1987 and 1989 and reported a prevalence of erectile dysfunction of 52%, with 9.6% of respondents reporting complete erectile dysfunction.5 In 2000 the overall prevalence of erectile dysfunction in this study population was re-estimated to be 44%.6 The Massachusetts study is important because it is the first cross-sectional, community-based, random-sample multidisciplinary survey on the topic and involved a significant cohort followed up for nearly a decade beyond the initial assessment. A survey of 3009 men aged 18–70 years from all regions of Canada revealed a similar prevalence of erectile dysfunction. ---- These women need to drastically increase their sample size. NOTE: ONLY 9.6% complete ED
Also note 40-70 range and problems are more skewed to the upper age ranges.
Also note, general health, BP, fitness, etc factors are not excluded here.
So in about 50% of men 40+, "sometimes" Peter does not actually LEAP of the body.
Note: In 2000 it dropped to 45% ... we are getting better, stronger, faster blah blah
I don't think women need to be too concerned, if it is a concern. If the rate ever was 75% sever ED problem over 45 ... I'm pretty sure businesses would be shut down, armies mobilized, the best and brightest minds in the universe would focus their attention on Peters' Upbringing.

| I heard 2 women talking about impotent men Posted: 7/5/2008 6:13:29 PM | | I think now with many more medications out there ! Guys are having more problems. I chat with several ages and it seem's that some of our young men too coming home from Iraq are having problems as well. Cause is they are on medications that help them deal with being back from a war. Is it cured after they stop ? I don't know . | |

| I heard 2 women talking about impotent men Posted: 7/5/2008 8:33:49 PM | you should know that this is not a new phenomenon, just a more open topic. health, meds, stress, there are many circumstances involved here.
many of us that were married for a majority of our adult lives had only that one partner to gauge our experiences on, even if we had our share of lovers in our pre-married days, we sure can't go by those youthful encounters!! now, as born-again-daters, we have new exposure (pun intended) to this ED problem, and yes, it's 'out there'.

Impotence (can't conceive) and Erectile dysfunction (can't get it up) are two extremely different problems and if they do not know the difference I would consider the source and do an Internet medical search instead of asking more people in here who don't know the difference either.

| I heard 2 women talking about impotent men Posted: 7/6/2008 7:02:05 PM | | Um.. I just Googled both terms and they are interchangeable. Erectile Dysfunction is just a new more user friendly euphemism for the term impotence. | |
