| When it hurts Posted: 7/6/2008 4:22:23 PM | and my words cant help, my arms cant comfort, my eyes cant soothe yet my silent presence supports. in that loss, friends are bound.
Horrible isnt it? Being a 'bloke' we cant say, do or express as you women, we want to but cant.
|
| When it hurts Posted: 7/6/2008 4:27:54 PM | i disagree cheeky just because of being a male does not mean we can not/do not know words of comfort, dont have the ability to give comfort/surport when needed, infact i would say a guy can be as surportive as he wants to be for every situation there is. just sometimes it feels like its not working doesnt mean it isnt. | |

| When it hurts Posted: 7/6/2008 4:33:55 PM | | I don't think its so much we can't more of a pressure that men don't loose it! load of shit really we're human we hurt and feel all the emotions women do! I personally find it easier to cope when it hurts to get it off my chest and pour my heart out! beleive me its better than letting it all bottle up, cos that helps no one! | |
|
| When it hurts Posted: 7/6/2008 4:34:52 PM | well my friend dave has soon got over his hurt & loss! good to see your back to yourself bored dave...not bubbling any longer like a baby..It's so hard she ignored his msg and he took it to heart..bit embarrassing really, thats why I said nothing, did nothing and certainly didnt throw my arms around him! | |
|
| When it hurts Posted: 7/6/2008 4:37:38 PM | Actually, by asking this question and with what you posted OP, you probably could express yourself (as a woman or otherwise) to support a friend as needed. Most importantly, your words 'my silent presence supports' would be exactly the type of support anyone would appreciate.
Edit: ha ha my words of wisdom will not enhance your piss taking.....

| When it hurts Posted: 7/6/2008 4:50:22 PM | A good friend of mine commented on what she wants from a man now that she is back on the single scene, I quote:
'I don't want a man in touch with his feminine side or to feel my pain, I want him to go find the source of that pain and beat the c*** out of it!'
Not a sentiment I agree with personally, but it did make me laugh.

Try turning the other cheek.
|
| When it hurts Posted: 7/7/2008 1:39:34 AM | well to be honest, everyone pours their heart out behind closed doors. If you've had one of those nights where you sitting with a mate having a beer and have one of those deep conversations where you just express yourself freely to him without sounding too much of a lovey dovey but just boardering it. Thats similar.
Or when us fellas are in the bedroom withonly our woman "snuggled" on the bed and we say (what we might consider as silly whilest we're with mates) something like "you look beautiful love" and absolutely mean it with all of your heart, then thats still the same as being a comforting person i suppose. Just that we aint allowed to do it infront of mates because we're brought up to be strong and be the people that women can have a sholder to cry on. (or other friends possibly).

| When it hurts Posted: 7/7/2008 1:58:38 AM | Different people need different stimulus. Some need a silent empathy, some need a physical presence some just need their sorrow to be drowned out by noise and brightness.
As people it is up to us how we read the situation so being a man or a woman we show emotion as we want.

When It Hurts.... Try turning the other cheek
Get a Gun.......! And sum RedBull..!
|
| When it hurts Posted: 7/7/2008 3:35:58 PM | In our society men are only allowed two emotions, one is to cheer and to be wildly exuberant at a sports team winning some dumb event.
And the other is a mild sadness at the loss/death of partner/wife/lover/other.
anything more than a mild sadness will invite derision.
Its ****ed up man! | |

| When it hurts Posted: 7/8/2008 5:40:44 AM | 'I don't want a man in touch with his feminine side or to feel my pain, I want him to go find the source of that pain and beat the c*** out of it!' ................................................................................................................. That really made me laugh..... I have put it as my msn heading...lol | |

When it hurts
Rub it better then stick a plaster on it and forget about it.
The more you moan and whine about it hurting the more it will sting

Speak for yourself lol I love being a bloke and I've never been accused of being insensitive. And they always tell the truth on my ward!
|
| When it hurts Posted: 7/9/2008 4:10:44 AM | I would far rather have a man in my life that i can cry WITH not TO!
A man with emotions that can and will be shown is someone very special indeed in my opinion.
|
| When it hurts Posted: 7/9/2008 3:30:41 PM | why can't your words help - are you mute? why can't your arms comfort? have they been chopped off? why can't your eyes soothe? can't you look at people?
say the right words whilst putting your arms round somebody and look them in the eye with genuine feelings and they'll feel your comfort alright
