i have worked in very stress full and for that matter dangerus enviroments for many years.
what gets my jucies flowing enough to get up in the morning the buzz,fun, helping people

Posted: 7/13/2008 5:36:50 PM | Doing what you want to do when you want to do it. Only answering to someone else if you want to. That said, just being vertical and breathing makes life fun for me. Don't like stress whether it be good or bad. Just a nice, even keeled life for me. | |

Posted: 7/13/2008 8:06:04 PM | Sometimes widgit...coming out here and reading some of the bad date threads or whatever. Not to make fun of anyone--but because someone will post something that is funny as hell but true.
Most of the time, I like to get in my car and drive. Well can't do THAT very much with high a** gas. OK, scratch that...when I volunteer. I get the best high out of helping someone else out--especially if they don't know that you've done it or they're not expecting it. Makes me happy and reminds me that life's too short to be so fraking serious all of the time! | |

Posted: 7/13/2008 8:52:22 PM | Kids. My home is frequently full of kids and I volunteer with them, I especially love pre-schoolers and helping them develop as they grow. It's a blast for me to play soccer with a few dozen kids or teach T-Ball.
My job is pretty cool, when it's quiet, I can read a good book, but I like the occasional challenge of it in that the skills set I learn there has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the world. It's like I step out of one world and into another. It changes every night and some posts are more cool than others. The people I work with are pretty awesome and downright hilarious. The best parties and small get-togethers have my co-workers there.
My art begin with crayons, sometimes involves clay and I don't follow any rules. I do it for fun.
I love to write. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's just therapy, but it is always a joy.
My girlfriends, singing in a bar or watching the kids play at the park or vetching on the phone or giggling madly at a sex toy party.
My guy friends, gay or straight. There's nothing like this group of heroes I know.
Crushes on men. I love doing that.
My dog. She sings, she talks with a small vocabulary and she is convinced that sneezing on command is her greatest trick.
My guinea pigs. I miss the one who passed away last fall, but we have two more and are hoping for babies. The female doesn't like me much, but the little male snuggles in my shoulder while I read or rides in my apron while I do housework or paint a new picture, and both will snuggle up with the dog for a community nap.
My sons, they have grown and gone but they were always a kick in the pants and the phone calls about their adventures usually leaves me laughing in tears.
My foster daughters and the grand daughter one has given me -tea parties with my grand daughter.
A hike or drive through the desert, day or night -something I get to do a lot of with work.
My favorite radio stations and my CD collection, being able to make my commute suit my mood, be it James Taylor or Flogging Molly, Foreigner or Jackson Brown, Ladysmith Black Mambazo or Lenny Kravitz, Juanes and Enrique Iglesias and Shakira or Korn and Staind. and so on.
And then, really, at the top of the list, my thirteen year old daughter who is always the best of fun (except when she's tired!) and even the steady stream of teenagers coming in and out of out place all day, to see her, to hang out with me, and to throw out when it's time for me to get ready for work, like, thirty minutes ago. | |

2) Creating. Writing stories, writing songs, thinking of sketch comedy ideas, fake news stories, jokes, etc.
3) Stimulating the mind. Chess, crosswords, trivia and factoids, etc.
4) The weird things that happen in life that no one could conceive or recreate. | |

For me I always like to meet one new person, find something new to read, or a new song to listen to -- just change the regular routine.

Hearing my children laugh... is there a sweeter sound? think not...
Even on the crappiest of days... if I can force a smile for even a few moments, it seems to improve my mood and the smile tends to stay.
Saying hello or have a good day to a stranger....
When I leave a store after purchasing something I always wish the clerk a good day. You can hear the appreciation in their voice. I do the same at toll booths.
Cranking the tunes and singing..... I sing terribly, but damn it I have fun! My girls and I do this all the time! | |

I love my job. I am fortunate to have a career where I am out meeting new people and learning something or trying something new every single day...I work long, stupid hours some days, but most of the time, I do not even feel like I am working. I have fun doing what I do.
I have the ability to laugh at myself in situations where crawling under a rock would be an easier alternative. I think this is one of the greatest things to make life more fun. If you can laugh at yourself...in a positive way...the not so fun things will be easier to cope with too.
And, I go to bed every night knowing I have not lied, cheated, or betrayed anybody I have crossed paths with....Knowing that I can look everybody in my life squarely in the eye makes getting up in the morning and facing the day a lot more pleasurable! | |

Life is too short to take things too seriously all the time. Need to have outlets and try new things. That is the big things for me - new experiences and learning new things. Having someone to share that with makes it all the more worthwhile. | |
